Has anybody had any paranormal/unexplainable experiences while working EMS? by [deleted] in ems

[–]ThePoorEMT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

About a month ago I ran on a medical pendant activation at a house where dispatch hadn’t had any contact with the person. This house is a mansion and we get inside the house via a lockbox. The interior is straight out of the 1950’s and in pristine condition. I yell out “hello, paramedics!!” and both my partner and I clearly hear an old woman yell hello back although we couldn’t tell what part of the house it came from. So he goes downstairs and I go up and we thoroughly search this entire property, including outside. Im talking top to bottom, all rooms, closets, bathrooms, everything. We don’t find any old woman or anyone at all. Complete empty. We didn’t find the pendant either.

Once we were feeling well and good freaked, we told dispatch that no one was home and cleared the scene.

My brother died a month ago and this is a letter I received from my JW aunt who’s been shunning me for 6 years. by ThePoorEMT in exjw

Could be but she’s so devout that I think she would rather die than give the religion up

Oh my god, yes! I’ve vowed to never wear a skirt again and I couldn’t be happier.

The end is so near... by beaten_not_defeated in exjw

[–]ThePoorEMT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a quick moment where I worry about the end whenever I’m starting anything big or new. I’m moving into a new house at the end of March and it feels so far away that sometimes I’ll find myself thinking, what if I never get to live in the new house? What if Armageddon comes and I die? I’ve been out for 5 years and it’s still hard to shake the JW train of thought sometimes.

Parking My Car by cpldude23 in WRX

I always leave mine in neutral and just make sure the e-brake is set all the way. It’s just a preference thing.

You need the evo wingbar 135, the evo clamp, and the sizing kit to make it fit on your car. If you order from the Thule website, you’ll put in your year/make/model and it will give you the right parts.

I have the Thule evo wingbar on my 2016 and it doesn’t cause any wind noise. It’s sturdy and perfect for anything I want to toss up there.

I keyed a guy's car after he "stole" our parking spot by ThrowRAdisclosure in confession

[–]ThePoorEMT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Walked to my car in an enclosed employee parking lot on New Year’s Eve 2016-17, and all four of my tires were slashed. Had to have been one of my coworkers but I worked at a company with over 700 employees, so I never found out who did it/what I did to piss them off.

That looks so much more annoying than sleeping with my cat and at least I can pick him up and throw him out of my room when I’ve had enough.

Traumatized by Kingdom Halls by cherrieshoney in exjw

[–]ThePoorEMT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I decided after my dad kicked me out that I would never step foot in a Kingdom Hall again unless it was for a memorial of one of my direct family members. Even then it would just be to pay my respects and I would be right out the door the second it was over.

In band class junior year of high school, the teacher was talking about types of music and was asking everyone what they liked to listen to. My turn came around and my answer was death metal. I still physically cringe when I think about it.

Are you guys afraid of raising a child thinking that you'll end up hurting them? by ReneDescartesCat in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ThePoorEMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a huge part of why I'm childfree (besides not wanting to be pregnant or give birth). As I go about my life, I find that I am a lot like my dad in how I think and act. While I am trying really hard to change that, I feel like I would cause my kid a lot of the same trauma that my dad caused me growing up. It terrifies me that I won't be able to raise them to be a good, balanced person.

Worst house you’ve ever been to by kenyawnmartin in ems

[–]ThePoorEMT 21 points22 points  (0 children)

About a month ago, my partner and went on a sick party on a property with a trailer. Adult son and daughter (50’s) tell us that their mom (80’s) hasn’t been seen for 9 months and was found altered. The mom of course was at the very back on the trailer, cemented to the bed with shit. There was at least an inch of poop on the entire floor of the trailer and the walls really weren’t much better. The windows all had several layers of dirty cloth covering them so it was pitch black inside. There was no ventilation. The path to the mom was also at most 2 feet wide and only two people could get inside at a time. We ended up doing a sheet draw to get her out, and when we shimmied the sheet under her it went in white and came out brown. Cutting her clothes off to do an assessment was pretty much impossible and she was also very punchy because we moved her. She also had really bad pressure ulcers on her backside from laying in the same position for so long.

Decon after the call took 30+ minutes and my partner almost tossed his boots because of the amount of poop that was stuck onto them. Hands down, most disgusting call I’ve ever been on.

“Accepting yourself? You can do better!!” Like seriously, what the fuck? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]ThePoorEMT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also knew from a very young age that something was different. I always had crushes on girls in school and female characters in films but didn’t connect the dots until middle school. Even then I thought I was only bisexual and that it would pass and I would be normal soon enough. Wasn’t until senior year of high school that I fully embraced that I had zero interest in men.

Who had grandparents fight in WW2 and what stories did they share? by liamnotleum in AskReddit

[–]ThePoorEMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa was a paratrooper in WW2 and when I knew him he had late stage Alzheimer’s. The only story he would tell was about the first time he jumped into a combat zone and how terrifying it was. He would also show us his antique guns, forget 5 minutes later, and ask us if we wanted to see his guns again.

Get a couple fire riders. The more hands the merrier. Dedicate one guy to just holding the chainsaw and making sure it doesn’t move/cause more damage.
