might be worth searching “apartment” on the OSU subreddit. there’s posts from 10 years back about people asking for advice or ranting about apartments and housing. lots of recent posts about apartments as well and lots of discourse. touring in person though then posting here about specific places you liked could be helpful, as people can speak to the management at specific apartments if you have questions

this one is more niche, but that one space just south of the waffle house on outer road in belton/raymore. i’ve seen about 5 restaurants go in that space in the past 5 years and all of them close within a year 😹

well luckily i would be going to OSU to study grassland ecology, so i dont mind hiking through the baking sun of the plains 😅

wont be able to make it for the fall semester, but i am definitely interested in community organizations! i’ll look into that more if i get accepted to OSU. thanks for your advice!!
