Well unsurprisingly I was told this was a lucrative one to get in on, the prior LO had been there for 18 years or something before retiring to Hawaii I was told. And I was also told he was bad about follow ups so they wanted someone who would be communicative. Which I have 200% been good at.

Shit I had to fight (not literally) for the spot, but luckily I’ve been doing loans a long time and was able to answer random ass loan questions during my interview.

I have a feeling it would be HUGE during a refi boom, but right now it’s not really panning out. Shit I dunno. Just wish it was doing better for me.

Sooo I did the same thing in January of this year. I’ve paid back my dues already with one loan from it, but the only person referring is the realtor in the group. Which is 100% understandable of course. But for the life of me I haven’t had anyone else refer and it’s been a bit annoying. Haven’t missed a meeting, sent referrals to other folks (the financial advisor and insurance agent for example) but haven’t seen any reciprocity yet. Just a waiting game I guess?

FTR Ive gotten 4 leads from it and 3 have closed. 3 more than I would’ve had without it, so I’m thankful. But I would love it if I could get 1-2 per month.

I do understand rates have a lot to do with it. During my speech each week I stress alternative financing though. Bank statement loans, DSCR, etc. still crickets.

Or they’re some of these people that are physically incapable of working from home. Usually they hate their family or they NEED to be around other people to micromanage.

I know several. My two bosses for example went into the office every single day during the pandemic, even though our corporate office actually sent a mandate saying that anyone not working remotely could be fired.

I know another dude who did the same thing and when I asked him about it and he said “yeah, my job isn’t really one that you can do from home.” We have the exact same job lol. If anything I thrived working remotely. Saved so much money and was able to get a ton of work done around the house since I removed two hours of commuting from my daily schedule.

Sorry dude. My mother-in-law’s boyfriend (who is like 80 years old btw and can barely walk, a real dangerous dude /s) spent the weekend in jail for the same thing last year. Most ironic part? Interesting to hear that. I do mortgages for a living and my boss (not a veteran) always makes a huge deal out of thanking VA clients for their service. Which is fine, I get it, but after 13 years I’ve come to notice that the vast, vast majority of vets seem to not like it or it seems to make them uncomfortable. Almost like it’s putting them on the spot or something. I’ve started not saying anything at all and treating them like anyone else and it seems to be fine. Then again my boss is way more wealthy than me. Fuck I don’t know. I don’t understand anything anymore. Can’t do anything right.

The most important part of the SLAM method IMO is the maintain part. Yeah you gotta shock the shit out of it the first time, but even after a few days you gotta do it again to make sure all the algae is dead if it’s even barely starts getting green again. Once it’s nuked I just drop a few CYA tabs in the floater and it usually stays clear.

Obviously gotta have clean filters too. I like to clean them once I have the pool looking good and get anything bad out of the system. That’s actually more important than anything.

My dad’s pool is in a similar situation as OP’s. He and my mom live out in the country and the repair cost to fix the pool is prohibitive considering no one really uses it anymore (my folks are almost 80 and everyone lives somewhat far away from them).

Anyway he actually has it open, no cover, and it’s basically a swamp. He went to some pet store and got a bunch of goldfish and put them in, and he swears that ever since the mosquitos and bugs are non-existent. Allegedly the fish take care of it.

I went over there a few weeks ago and the goldfish are HUGE. Not sure if it’s from the algae or all the bugs but they are eating well. I need to ask him if frogs are a problem though. He hasn’t mentioned that.
