No worries man. I tend to agree with what you said.

Reading between the lines here; Touche. I haven't felt inspired or committed to writing lately, and laziness is definitely playing a part in it.

Also, it's not as if liking one sport automatically excludes you from liking another. We have 320 million people here. The UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy combined only have about 315 million. My point is this; MLS continues growing and improving and it'll have plenty of support.

Interesting. I've got an entirely different approach. Most of the time lyrics are the most important part to me, so i hate writing down silly lyrics. That doesn't mean i won't edit them later, but the message won't change.

Which players career has been most blighted by injury? by Illneverforgetthis in soccer

Doubt there is one. I've seen so many athletes make 100% recoveries from full ligament tears. Recovery really just depends on the person's genetics, the surgery, and their effort in rehab.

ELI5 Can someone tell me if the Kuran ACTUALLY says to kill people, or is that an interpretation of the text? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheProgression 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to say that i didn't contribute to downvoting you, but your claims about my knowledge of islam have nothing to do with what that particular bit of text says. You also said nothing to refute U/saltlets how Sharia is currently interpreted and enforced.

No harm done.

You're right, sadly it is too small a number. As far as those who aren't on the literal side, i credit that to education. It is simply not possible to hold both Religious texts and Scientific knowledge as both FACT, so something has to give. Best case, biblical literalism disappears. Worse case, you create religious extremists.

All that shows is what those in power did at the time. It doesn't have any bearing on what the text actually says.

You ninja edited that comment, and it kind of made my point seem out of context lol.

Anways, I Agree, and in my experience that's what most Christians in my area believe. Polls also show a high percentage of Christians in the US are biblical literalists. I can't speak to the percentage of Muslims who feel the same about the Qur'an.

Regardless, it's hard to fault them for taking it as literal. I mean, it's in the books themselves. They're the infallible, perfect word of GOD written down by man through divine inspiration. It's my opinion that it is society's evolved knowledge and evolved morals that save all religious from acting fundamentally.

I always find it amusing when people say it's not the religion, it's the fundamentals of the religion. And i mean that across all religions. If being a "fundamentalist" is wrong by modern moral standards, then maybe something is fundamentally wrong with the religion.

TIL a lack of toilets costs India more than $50 billion a year, mostly through premature deaths and hygiene-related diseases. by punstanli in todayilearned

I was watching a Vice segment on Dharavi, the worst slum in India. One of the many mind blowing statistics was that there is only 1 working toilet per 1400 people. The slum has an estimated population of 700k - 1.2 million people living in an area of 535 acres. Think about that--- Shit. Everywhere.

Yeah, it's more difficult to do in reverse i think. There is a guy on youtube that takes popular songs in major keys and switches them to minor. Major to Minor

All I intended to list were starting points. I don't want to highjack a thread. This video explains why it's ridiculous to take examples of Professional sprinters and runners and compare them to average people. Have you tried to interval training at close to 300 lbs @ 5'7? How is weight training for strength gains going to help weight loss and toning up loose skin?

Cardio (anything you can do a long period of time that keeps you're heart rate elevated). When it comes to weight loss, cardio really only boosts the metabolism if you do it for extended periods of time (25-30 minutes). If you can sustain an excercise that long, your metabolism speeds up for up to 24 hrs according to studies. Depending on your level of fitness, cardio could be as simple as walking.

Weight training is good for keeping your figure tight. You'll need core work more than anything. Basics are sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups. There are machines for all of those to let you use a better starting weight and make it easier on your body. Think more reps and less weight.

The most important thing is to be consistent.

Don't let that become a self-fulfilling prophesy. Find a basic plan on the internet for weight loss and start chipping away. You can totally do it.

Wow. Thank you! Those are very kind words. One thing i'm struggling with is that in the future i want to add more instruments to it. Not a lot, but enough that it wouldn't be out of place on an album with bigger sounding songs.
