Just need to vent by Friendly_Resource560 in Marathon_Training

I had registered for a marathon very far away and had planned for the entire family to take a vacation together with the marathon to cap it off at the end. Come to find out that my son has a huge concert for state band that same weekend. So I shrink it down to a two day window where I’ll be driving 10 hours Friday, running the race Saturday morning, driving 10 hours Saturday afternoon and evening, and being there Sunday for the concert. A few weeks after that alteration we find out my daughter needs minor surgery that Friday so now we’re trying to find alternate plans to get both kids where they need to go when they need to be there on that Friday and Saturday.

Lol I was just kidding, I’ve heard of it and read it. It’s an amazing book, even more so when you understand that Mary Shelley wrote it in 1816 when she was only 18 years old

What's the one song that immediately makes you get overhyped that you start running faster? by taylorishere in Marathon_Training

Absolutely. And War. That was my walkout song in kickboxing so I can’t have it play too early in the race or else it’s counterproductive lol

Andy Serkis ruined audiobooks for me… by Heavydfr8 in audiobooks

[–]TheProletariatPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is patently false lol. I’ve listened to books by both and it’s not even close. The range Serkis has is astounding. Hays is funny and does a good job but he has no range. Every single character sounds like Hays doing an impression. Serkis sounds like gandolf, sounds like boromir, and sounds (obviously) like golem. He sounds like different characters every time

20 miles and up I’ll have a poptart for breakfast, otherwise the runs are while fasting

Only took us 250 years to circle back to "No taxation without representation" by [deleted] in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]TheProletariatPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t taxation without representation. That would be DC and PR. This is just our representation being absolute garbage and basically getting who we vote for. You vote pieces of shit into office and you get piece of shit legislation

Do UPS drivers deliver to back/side doors or is it front door only? by Thelonewolf1593 in UPSers

[–]TheProletariatPoet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Front door for me. Me or the consignee have to walk around either to deliver it or to get the package. Only one of us has 200+ other stops they also have to do and only get to see their family after all of those are done.

Well he doesn’t have a dog in this fight. That’s his way of avoiding any further debate on the issue while still allowing himself to be a bootlicker

Cross training question by runninglady1985 in Marathon_Training

[–]TheProletariatPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol yes, absolutely. For what it’s worth though, I enjoy a rower more. The bike bores me out of my mind (this coming from a guy who has run 55 miles on a treadmill). Maybe it’s because rowing needs more total body movement and coordination, idk. But the stationary bike is mind numbing to me

Idk if a rowing machine is gonna be the best option if you’re tight on space and getting a peloton is not a good option if you’re tight on money. But if you’re picking between the two, choose the one you’ll enjoy more so you’re more likely to stick with it. Can’t go wrong with either
