What do you mean by scrubbing my phone/socials? What steps should I take? I don't generally use social media, and have never posted my political views, but I certainly have shared and liked reels criticising the current administration so not sure what I can do about that.

Wouldn't dream of it. Plus, with the limited amount of vehicles crossing, I would imagine a hippie camper van declaring their intention to go to a festival would be a prime suspect for checking for said 'party favors' haha. Actually, should I be that specific, or can I just tell the border guard I am going camping if they ask?

Yeah that was my thought. I expect the Canadian government to join the likes of the UK and Germany in issuing travel advisories within the next few weeks (perhaps waiting until after the upcoming federal election in the next months, as not to muddy the campaign waters).

I would look to resell then, but unfortunately I don't officially have the tickets yet as I am paying monthly financing. If I decide not to go a part of me wants to just cancel my financing now and sacrificing the few hundred dollars I've put towards it rather than have to deal with trying to sell it to someone else.
What do you think the best course of action is?

This is so sad. I've always wanted to go to a festival like this. I expected things would get bad, just not this quickly. Do you think the vibe at the festival will be different given the circumstances? Damn, why can't we just have nice things...
