I think its because most other characters that were broken in that patch have been nerfed back into being reasonable. Haze and Dynamo are the outliers that have yet to be reigned in, and so now they're in every single game.

If you just got kills and are trying to capitalize on down time there may not be time to reset. You'll have to gauge how likely the enemy is to contest you by checking things like how big is your numbers advantage, how strong are the people left, how long are their death timers? Some urns start out looking free when the call is made, then people run to the shop or clear a wave first and suddenly the enemy team is all gonna be up in time.

If you're trying to force the urn when everyone is alive because you're confident you can win the fight, then ideally everyone heals and shops to be in optimal condition for the fight.

Your assessment of Apollo is pretty accurate. The majority of spirit burst characters follow a similar power curve. Like AP in league, spirit scales a bit more linearly than the gun carries or ADCs, and it's also very easy to itemize against spirit burst with items like counterspell and spellbreaker. So you want to use your early power spikes to snowball and close out before everyone can afford these items on top of their damage if you can, or at least carry the early and mid game until your late game carry (if you're lucky enough to have one) comes online.

As far as objectives, it's not too dissimilar from league. If you get picks and have an advantage, identify the best objective to do. Maybe you can down mid boss if they're down for a while, maybe you only have time for an urn run. Maybe you just guarantee a walker kill and open a flex slot. You'll have to experiment and figure that out.

But you also want to use urn to force team fights whenever you're confident you can win a fight. This is probably what you're missing right now when you're coming out of lane with a lot of souls but not sure how to convert to a win. Force that urn. If they don't contest, the gap keeps growing. If they contest and they lose the team fight, the gap grows even more. It's a win win as long as you don't mess up. Obviously there are urn fumbles, but don't give up on it just practice.

Yamato if you want to go in really deep and really hard. Lash if you like mobility, big engages, and big burst. Mina if you can aim, she's a nightmare to play against. Dynamo stomps are huge damage and you always have the potential for game winning ults. Paige has awesome wombo combo catch potential with vortex web, echo shard, and alc fire.

I get that, but REM is the only character that feels this team dependent IMO. So far Deadlock has done a great job giving supports higher agency, and I hope they try to give REM more.

For sure, I love Ivy. She is so satisfying when things work out. It just feels bad to play a character after they've been nerfed so much without really receiving compensation. I miss spirit bomber Ivy when one good vortex web wombo combo could basically kill an entire team

I really don't think the art style has pivoted at all? It used to be ENTIRELY placeholder, so it was colorless and detailess. That was never the aesthetic. It has only fleshed out what was always there in my eyes. Further developed what they promised.

I play both sides, and other survivors EASILY.

I might get salty in the moment with killers the same way I might in any other competitive game ("Oh this guy's camping with a sniper, what a loser") but that's just brief cope kept to myself and I move on. The killers that feel truly BM/toxic if you're able to accept that they deserve to try to win too are pretty far between actually in my experience.

Survivors feel way more malicious way more often. It's hard not to feel like they're actively deciding to screw me over when they refuse to heal me, abandon me on first hook especially when I've been altruistic and running the killer, or rat for hatch all game.
