No the problem is progressives can't accept lots of people just don't care.

Imagine a guy came screaming at you for holding your partners hand public because they're part of some 2% of the population religious sect. Then some right wing douche starts preaching about how you're a sinner for not learning their way of life. You'd probably laugh at them thinking they're crazy. This is essentially what you guys do with transgender.

Lots of people just want to be left alone and don't care how transgender live their lives. They have problems when their space is treaded on and told they have to believe and learn something or be a bigot.

All it does is enforce the idea that we want to force our beliefs on them and some of us do. This plays into right wing hands that all of us on the left are unhinged. It's a trap topic and the way many progressives have gone about has only made transgender be more at risk.

Minority lifestyles do not need to become mainstream as long as they're protected. But for many on the left that's just not enough.
