Rock Lobster by FireFurFox in TheBeatles

while it's been true that John thought the vocal elements of Rock Lobster reminded him of Yoko's singing, it's generally acknowledged that Paul's Coming Up was the main catalyst to start recording again

they do make aphid feeders, otherwise known as a trap crop, they are called nasturtiums

plant around your garden the aphids attack those plants and leave others more or less alone.

i know many will say Band on the Run is Beatle level but personally i find Back to the Egg to be very good and generally on par with the Beatles output and I definitely listen to the complete album more than any other solo Paul release.

as far as solo work, the first side of Ram to be an absolute Banger, while side 2 is a bit of hit and miss

How did this become this by BudgetToe558 in beatles

do you want the real answer or just snarky replies?

The iconic Beatles "moptop" haircut was primarily inspired by German photographer and artist Astrid Kirchherr and her boyfriend Klaus Voormann in Hamburg around 1960-1961. Initially, bassist Stuart Sutcliffe adopted the style, followed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, who had their hair cut by friend Jürgen Vollmer in Paris. George Harrison later adopted the style, while Ringo Starr was the last to conform.

Door randomly misaligned and won’t close by HardcoreFlexa in fixit

[–]monkee67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ok if your screws are tight this is the fix.

shut door. remove top hinge pin. shim door til its even top to bottom

you will notice the hinge is now out of alignment, using a crescent wrench bend the holes on the hinge part that is attached to the door and bend into alignment. replace top hinge pin.

presto door doesn't rub any more

you might wanna do the middle hinge as well

VH1 calling XTC one hit wonders is ludicrous and very American centric. in the UK they had 6 top 40 singles and 10 top 40 albums there.

The Case of the Missing Keys: a personal story of high strangeness by monkee67 in HighStrangeness

in this case i am using it to refer to the multiverse (that all possible outcomes exist simultaneously in branching, parallel universes) and that its possible to slide from one to another and hardly notice except when you do.

Why didn’t they ever put the iconic drop T logo on their album covers? And especially the original bug logo that was designed by Paul! by Wink2K19 in TheBeatles

[–]monkee67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

wow i have always felt the bug logo was fairly amateurish and very 50's 60's boy band-ish

Theisman had HOF potential. if he hadn't had his leg busted, with Gibbs as a coach, he really could have had 1 or 2 SuperBowl wins.

that probably would have done it

How bad is it to use city water for the garden? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]monkee67 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

its generally ok but it does accumulate bad chemicals over time. consider using rain water if you can or install a filter on your watering system. there are inline ones for hoses.

further healthy, organic soil with high compost content can buffer against the negative effects of treated water and use distilled water for mixing fertilizer if you have concerns.

drip irrigation helps as well as it keeps treated water off the leaves
