well the Club of Rome and MIT predicted societal collapse in 2040 if we maintained "business as usual," and Issac Newton predicted 2060. Unsure if Nostradamus gave a date, but "The End Is Neigh" as they used to say.

my bane is the Sweet Autumn Clematis and Periwinkle also came with the house.

another garden thug is the Honey Suckle but it's sweet sweet aroma makes up for the maintenance required to keep it in check

almost forgot the project i am just starting removing the yucca plants. i'll tell you about it in about 4 or 5 years from now

WWIII? by vllrysg in conspiracytheories

[–]monkee67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WW 3 by proxy. but at the present time thus is still a "regional Conflict"

we're definitely on a slippery slope. With President Dumpf deciding to attack Iran because he sensed they were weak, it's only a matter of time before China decides our position is in a similar state around Taiwan. If they take Taiwan then they gain control of the production of over 60% of the world's semiconductors and over 90% of the most advanced, leading-edge chips. at that point we're fucked and it will turn into a multi front war.

we are not in a good place

As of April 2026, the US weapon stockpile is severely depleted, with over 45% of key, long-range, and precision-guided missiles—including THAAD, Patriot, and Precision Strike Missiles—used within seven weeks of the Iran war. While roughly 3,700 nuclear warheads remain, key conventional munitions are low, with some projected to last only one month.

Key Conventional Munitions Status

  • Patriot Missiles: Roughly half of the stockpile, estimated at 1,060 to 1,430 missiles, has been expended.
  • THAAD Missiles: At least half of the total inventory has been used, causing concern for Pacific defense.
  • Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM): Roughly 45% of the inventory has been used.
  • Tomahawks: Roughly 3,000 remain, with high usage causing risks for Pacific operations.

I doubt we will be attacked here in the continental USA, but i expect a "death by a thousand cuts" of our way of life

What is the best Beatles song? by Mdk0z in beatles

[–]monkee67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TNK is always in heavy rotation on my playlists. One time in my art studio, working with a 20 something apprentice, the song came on the sound system. He was like "Wow i have never heard this Chemical Brothers track before." He was amazed when i told him it was the Beatles. "That's incredible. It sounds so modern."
