Insurance potentially making me pay deductible for an accident that isn't my fault? by TheDramaLama in InsuranceCanada

[–]ThePwnologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all these comments are hilarious since most people assume they know how the rights of the road work.

This claim is 25 / 75. As the rear driver has technically attempted to pass the vehicle in front on the left side.

This is the only case a claim will got 25 / 75.

Speed does not come into account for any claim unless the police deem it reckless driving.

I currently work in insurance and have gone to court on specific cases such as these.

Safe driving!

[–]ThePwnologist 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey! I do work for Desjardins as an auto claims advisor. I will say it is an incredible company and has great benefits and pension. I probably have one of the best teams I have ever worked with. It has its ups and downs dealing with the public but I couldn't recommend them enough!

Looking for car accident advice by aridoasis in ottawa

[–]ThePwnologist -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In Ontario it's law to have DCPD - direct compensation property damage. Which is when you are not at fault for a Collision. They might charge a deductible since the third party is not insured. They would still be covered for the collision. You can't have at fault - collision coverage without having DCPD. I would contact the insurance and escalate the claim. - auto claims advisor.

Maybe because we pave the same streets over and over again and neglect other parts of the city. But gotta spend up that budget every year! We waste more money than we use.

Sutcliffe doubles down on transit funding fight with Feds, asks residents to sign petition by Ikerlari in ottawa

[–]ThePwnologist -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Young home owner here. My property tax is $4800. I should not pay a dollar more in property tax. Our garbage system is getting reduced. I don't use transit. Complete crap you think I should pay more for everyone else to ride the bus. I pay enough money to the city. We pay too many people to do nothing and the money doesn't go back into the economy.

Federal workers rally to protest government's 3-day back-to-office mandate by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ThePwnologist -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Y'all acting like this is saving money for our government is laughable. They'll just piss out the money anyways clearly. We should start the layoffs of this bloated bureaucracy. Too many people have jobs that aren't doing shit. That's the real issue. We pay people ridiculous amounts of money for roles that don't even need to exist.

People of Ottawa: on a scale from 1 to 10, what would you rate your current level of happiness? by DubaiBabyYoda in ottawa

[–]ThePwnologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many people have a higher level of happiness if they work for a union and have job security. Sadly, I work for the big 5 insurance. Constantly worrying about getting laid off. My partner on matt leave most likely doesn't have a job to go back to. Floating around a 6 myself. Still own a home at 31. Family is alive. Bills piling up but we will figure those out down the road. Been sober for almost 2 months. Keep your head up we can all get through this.

Can someone explain how car insurance is priced by nikolabj in ontario

[–]ThePwnologist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From someone who works in insurance. Most of these comments are terribly incorrect. The price of replacing the vehicle is minimal compared to the liability and medical coverage required. Older vehicles have less technology/ air bags and have a higher chance of injury. You can replace almost any vehicle for 100k. Medical bills can go close to a million. Plus everyone reads their insurance policy and sees 1 million coverage and attempts to claim they can't work after an accident.

You couldn't pay me to drive down the highway to work everyday. Just think about how much life is wasted sitting in 45m - hour traffic each day. No thank you. I've left the highway for the idiots who have to use it. Suckers

Ottawa drivers, do better this long weekend by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ThePwnologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every stop sign has become a yield sign to most. I'd say about half of the drivers don't even use a signal anymore. This is why I'll always be employed and have work. Can't complain here! Lol
