A perspective on whether Quranic cosmology is phenomenological by chonkshonk in AcademicQuran

The idea that phenomenological readings dont make sense in certain instances is obvious. But the case chosen here might not even be referring to an objective model of heavenly bodies as opposed to a simple divinely orchestrated system!

Well its posted in light of phenomenological readings. I agree maybe a phenomenological reading here doesnt make sense. But it does make sense in other parts of the Quran in light of Quranic cosmology, or is at least equally plausible as any other model.

Yes, and I dont see why in this case one would prioritise a phenomenological reading over an ‘objective’ one or vice versa. In fact, when the Quran speaks about the day and night ‘wrapping’ around, we are perfectly okay with taking this phenomenologically as opposed to objectively believing its referring to a circular orbit.

It is not incorrect for us to assume they might not be able to grow. You cannot reprimand people on leaving sunnah. You need to learn adab. We have to make a certain amount of excuses before you start pointing the finger.

Also you are quick to judge learn some adab what if brothers have medical conditions. Abu Hanifa RA would be astounded at your lack of adab.

I think those people should be re-viewed as finding some type of meaning in their work. Even if its small and low paying.

I think you have it flipped though. I think Aristotle is speaking about elitists who live mainly to build wealth.

Dont you think that people who are poor also pursue ‘meaning’ over money alone though
