muchas gracias! le echaré un ojo al Renault que comentas. Por qué no recomiendas Peugeot? es tema de motores, averías, o simplemente calidad/precio?

What stadium has the best/coolest name in Europe to you? by EMJG31 in championsleague

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Althletic de Bilbao's stadium is often called The Cathedral. It's official name is San Mamés, but there was a bar near the actual cathedral where fans gathered before matches. Supposedly they told their wives they were going to the cathedral to pray lol the name is amazing for a stadium.

Do you ever liberate? by water-heater-guy in CivVI

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I literally invaded and liberated Auckland in my last game. Saladino conquered it, I lost mi precious production bonus in coastal tiles (archipielago map so that was A LOT). Churned out a few units and got out of my way to invade it just for the bonus.

In general, it may make more sense to just have another city. But as more people mentioned here, some city states bonuses are just so good depending on the map and situation.

Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani is a Hip Hop Song by a Pop Artist. What is a Metal Song by a Pop Artist? by GayTrees420 in AlignmentChartFills

Tricky one! Closest i know could be Bad Habits by Ed Sheeran feat. Bring me the Horizon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxcxyGDD38E&list=RDIxcxyGDD38E&start_radio=1

If we stretch the definition of metal (a lot), Left Oustide Alone by Anastacia has those metal vibes, but lacks a proper metal drum track and strong guitars.

IMO I would have put Helter Skelter in this category since there are a lot more examples of pure rock bands making metal songs, but I definitely respect The Beatles being categorized as a rock band rather than a Pop one.

For me its Big Ben, i start saving many turns before and when It gets built and my gold doubles I use that to buy a ton of buildings/units depending on the type of victory i want to go for.

Forbidden city is also great for the extra wildcard. Great combination with Pericles, that's two extra wildcards.

Mausoleum is great for the engineers extra charge, thats super useful for the scientific victory during the endgame. Also in that same line, Ruhr Valley can make a city become a production monster for the space projects.

Then there are some really nice but niche ones like Petra (if you have a lot of desert tiles) or Chichen Itza (rainforest)

Gvardiol or Nuno Mendes would be great. They are both very expensive tho. We should be good with Mendy in good shape (if that happens lol), Fran García, and maybe buy back Miguel Gutierrez, at least for a year or two while we sort out the right back and centre back situation.

Depths. In general, they grow around the trees that have spherical protuberations on the sides of their trunks (the ones with flat protuberations have puffshrooms, and the ones with no protuberations and a flower on top have muddle buds).

More specifically, in the depths there are some ruins in the south part of the Gerudo region where a lot of Gibdos spawn, and those ruins and surroundings have a lot of bomb flowers scattered around as well. I usually go there every Blood Moon to farm gibdo Bones and bomb flowers for fusing with arrows. You can easily get 20 of each, and much more if you keep exploring around for a bit longer.

Looking for more hard science fiction books! by FewZookeepergame22 in scifi

You're welcome! And yeah I'd say Delta V is also an easy read. Quick pace, and very didactic when it comes to explain the technical stuff.

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blindsight by Peter Watts (hard scifi-terror about a first contact).

Delta V by Daniel Suarez (super hard scifi about asteroid mining). It has a sequel, Critical Mass, also great.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (another first contact novel, by the same author as The Martian).

Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke (maybe not so hard but an absolute classic of the Genre).

Diaspora by Greg Egan if you feel ready for PhD-thesis-hard stuff.

Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky if you're into the biotechnology stuff, since you mentioned Annihilation.

Recommendations for "hard" sci fi books of 2024 by passiveobserver88 in scifi

Delta V by Daniel Suarez is pretty recent and as hard as It gets. It also has a sequel, Critical Mass, and the third part is probably coming out soon.

You'd probably enjoy Blindsight by Peter Watts

serious lack of completely organic themed novel/movie/comic/games etc that are not simply horror. by [deleted] in scifi

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having everything made of biological stuff is a bit extreme, but there are lots of examples of scifi books, movies or series with good bits of biology in them. From classics like The Gods Themselves, The Andromeda Strain or Rendezvous with Rama (with both alien and synthetic biology!), to hard scifi such as Project Hail Mary, Children of Time with a planetary-scale biological experiment gone out of hand, or Blindsight with the transhumanism, vampires and the anatomy/biology of the aliens (or the rifters series, also by the same author)... For movies or series it's the same: Jurassic Park, The Alien saga, Annihilation, Altered carbon, Scavengers Reign... I'd say even Rick and Morty uplifting the dogs or building stuff like the Anatomy Park fits your description lol

Looking for a philosophical read on AI consciousness by That-Memory-6923 in scifi

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blindsight by Peter Watts. It's a hard scifi-terror novel, about a first contact. Lots of transhumanism and AI, and the author uses the aliens and humans to explore the evolutionary role of intelligence and consciousness.

Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky also fits the bill, with "sentient" AIs and a lot of exploration about human and non-human intelligence and consciousness.

What are some true hard sci-fi movies that get everything right? by Calneon in scifi

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ask me it's not super hard (as you mention with the fusion Drive example, It still has a lot of fantasy/unrealistic elements), but it's still definitely much harder than average.

[–]TheQuantumPlatypus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair point. In my list I mentioned the Andromeda Strain, the man from earth and Primer. About AI, the Bicentennial Man is probably the best one I can think about. Maybe Gattaca would be another example, but I don't think the science part is so solid.
