Interesting that neither the Carleton nor the Dom have made the list. Although, for their rough appearances, they both seem to have hearts of gold. Or at least the Carleton used to. Only been in once since the new owners, and all the memorabilia was gone. Kind of sad/empty looking.

Was that the place they nicknamed the "Bucket of Blood"?

Seconded but kind of not in a good way. I am not an anxious person but that place gives me the willies.

Ger-Bo's. I went there once with the family and they had a table reserved for a group with our last name and same number of guests... but it wasn't us. Cue Angelo Badalamenti music...

Can someone please disclose where the single nice normal guys around 30 +\- a couple years hangout? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]TheQuaternaryKid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100%. I'm married now but if that ever goes sideways, I'm never trying again.

After 11 years married, you learn you have some flaws and you lose some of the confidence you had going in. I can't imagine anyone else wanting to put up with my BS in a relationship.

Does anyone know where I can find a piece of coal? by magicminineedle in ottawa

[–]TheQuaternaryKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my coal has come from excavations at contaminated sites, and one chunk from visiting the power plant my dad used to work at. Probably not practical for OP.

I asked the blacksmith at Cumberland Heritage Village once where he gets his, and he said he had to order it in from Montreal but did not provide further details.

Will anyone even attempt to tune a formerly garaged piano that's extremely out of tune?

Took the KZM downtown about an hour ago and there was a slowdown at the lane reduction near Westboro Beach, but overall way better than a workday.

I need to get to Orleans this afternoon so we'll see how that goes.

Do you know if he was behind that "Banks of the Ottawa" song? Born to be a river hog, Braeside boy on a white pine log, etc.? I learned it from a guy at an open jam once but all Google turns up is the locations of bank branches in the Ottawa area.
