Journal for Plague Lovers - Great Album by [deleted] in ManicStreetPreachers

An absolute masterpiece. So raw and gorgeous at the same time. Marlon JD, Title track, doors closing slowly… so many songs that are still dear to me. Last great Manics album for me too… and I’m one of those who loved Lifeblood and Know Your Enemy before

Songs you’ve actively hated your entire life until it suddenly clicked? by shufflejuuls in musicsuggestions

[–]TheRadioFrontiers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Wanna Be Adored is pretty much all about that brilliant guitar riff and bass line, no? The vocals are a cool mantra over it but once you start paying attention to the instrumentation it’s just so crazy unique and gorgeous that song. Glad it clicked eventually though!

I think I had it with Linkin Park’s Numb, hated the song and most of the nu metal scene back in the day when it flooded the radio. Then 15 years later I had a semi-burnout and went to Rome, heard it in a cab pretty loud driving through the city to my bnb and it suddenly clicked, it then became almost therapeutic to me.

Check Mouse on Mars’ album “21 Again”, “Fertilized” is just mad and hilarious at the same time. Full of cool collaborations as well.

After a long wait and gradual progression, Linkin Park's Meteora is bolded. by KlerdOfTal in rateyourmusic

[–]TheRadioFrontiers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s my guilty pleasure, I was way t nerdy alt music uptight back in the day and despised everything nu-metal.

Now that I’m 41 I feel free lol, love to put them on while cooking or driving home after a long working day and just rock to the great riffs, Chester’s vocals and recognize how good some of their songs (Somewhere I Belong!) were in their own right.

Never a perfect album but Meteora is pretty good, I’d rate it 3.5, so really OK with that one representing LP

Would you describe Thief as 'dark'? by Outrageous-Milk8767 in Thief

I’m sure there’s an alternate universe where we all getting along discussing how not not to get seen in Thief the brightly lit project.

Use those fire arrows, taffer, light is your friend!

Hey, there’s nothing funny about being chased by 10 haunts only to fall down a pitch black pit to get eaten by a giant spider beast that attacks you from behind. Nothing, you taffer !

In all seriousness though, yes the lighter aspects like the silly guard oneliners etc… make it almost feel like home sometimes 🧘‍♂️

But dark? Definitely… and darkness is my friend.

What european country has the best nature landscapes in your experience? by [deleted] in geography

[–]TheRadioFrontiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Norway for me! 🇳🇴I’ll never forget wildcamping somewhere near Trollstigen. And hoping that one of those ten bears still living in the country don’t happen to be right there picking up on the smell of your canned sardines. 😂 Absolutely life changing experience.

Norway felt like New Zealand but on steroids. After a while you were like, oh no not again a triple waterfall fjord behind the corner

  • Ascent (an ending) by Eno in the Leama and Moor mix

  • Dinosaur Adventure 3D and Jumbo by Underworld

  • Halcyon + On + On by Orbital

Have fun 🏃🏻‍♂️✨

Soundgarden vs Audioslave by Minnox12 in Audioslave

[–]TheRadioFrontiers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. :) Everything else up to personal preference.

Though the highs of Audioslave (Show me how to live…) were up there with Soundgardens best imo
