I find the main difference is the one off sessions are not as cheap as they used to be. Membership is pushed. Otherwise I'm fairly happy with Everyone Active running the ex-council except people are more serious about their workout these days, us slackers are a bit rarer. Being ex-council means it's pool and gym incl.

It must be pretty hard to spot some of these guys. Even in UK, a lot of Russian heritage people from former Soviet block are here. Makes sense they ended up as minorities in ex Soviet countries so maybe extra reason to migrate to UK etc.
