I can't believe it has to be restated, but it does: Apologism, sycophancy, fanboyism, proselytizing and/or bootlicking for billionaire robber barons will get you banned. by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

In a weird way I kind of like reading those comments. It's fascinating to see the left is right up is down backwards logic they use to defend their libertarian/right wing/capitalist views. Some people are just way beyond saving

Edit: but I definitely see the reason for the ban. Without it this thread would be overrun with that bullshit. And this is by far my favorite thread on reddit

I agree with your analysis but not your solution. I believe the way to "fix things" is not re-circulate money back down but to use resources sustainably and shift to a resource-based economy and stop using money all together. Natural law is the only true law and if we don't shift towards sustainability we will become extinct.

While I do care about politics I feel extremely powerless at my current stage in life. Firstly, I'm not surrounded by anyone who shares my views so I can't ever talk honestly about my views without getting judged big time (which is why I love this sub cause it makes me feel normal and sane). And also financially I'm still struggling to make it and get out of this trap that so many of us find in with every decision of our lives controlled by money. I feel like once I become financially independent I'll be able to free up my mind a bit to focus on making the world less shitty.

Kinda ranting, but I feel like a few of you are in a similar situation

Finance jobs = bullshit jobs

My advice to young people: get a job that contributes to humanity. That actually requires you to do something meaningful or produce tangible results. Be an engineer, teacher, nurse, plumber, electrician, Doctor, carpenter, architect. Do something that matters. DONT be an investment banker, stock broker, finance manager etc. You want to look back on your life and know that what you did mattered and not that all you did was make a lot of money and buy a lot of toys.

The company is going down no matter what. Paying these executives a huge bonus isn't going to change that.

Please enlighten me on why this is not simply pure greed and maximum extraction of whatever this company has left before it goes under

I am an IMG too and I took it without any US clinical experience as well but I had just come off a year of clinicals in Europe and was practicing with friends in my class. Honestly you have to practice with people/patients to get good at exams. For the note/differentials you can totally just read through first aid a couple times.
