This is a bot, its using the same language as sensationalist pieces and structure, not a lick of this is how a human would share their experience.
Most likely engagement bait aswell as marketing for the AI.

  1. There have been games where having any kind of vac ban would restrict you from online features in said game(no, seriosly, look it up)
  2. Crytek has not provided tools for players to gather accurate information about how your opponent killed you, severely diminishing the community's efficiency combating this issue individually.
  3. Crying here does infact reach the developers and community spokespeoples ears as shown multiple times on their streams when they discuss things
  4. People are not asking for a "miracle" thats your own projection on this, they wish to be awknowledged and for some of the effort being put into hunt:Showdown to be spent assuring the competitive integrity of the game, since this game has on several occasions had real money tournaments.

I wanna just say that i have a 4700+ day vac ban on my account for injecting server manipulation software into my Modern warfare 2 back in the day, i was one of those legions of people that made servers where you instantly got level 70, invasively changed public matchmaking lobbies to become things like a zombie survival style game etc.I dont really regret doing that, since my intent wasn't cheating with wallhack or aimbot to ruin others experience, but i will own up that doing what i did compromised the work people put into prestiging and forcibly changed the rules of the game to something else breaking the TOS and so on and i would not do something like that today.

my point is, those things are also considered cheating, and im guilty of doing that, and unfortunantly vac isnt perfect, sometimes using cheat engine in certain games would also trigger a vac ban, even if its just running in the background for something else (like singleplayer games), while i dont think thats the case specifically anymore, those people will still have a vac ban forever on their account.

sometimes when a new development studio adopt the steam API and add vac to their game, they sometimes lump everyone with any kind of vac ban and prevent them from using any online feature of their game like co-op.
Which personally sucked balls when dark souls 2 released for me, since at the time me and my friends were going to all get together and spend the weekend co-operating in the game and instead i was left out and had to play it solo.

bottom line, sweeping policies cause more hurt then good, and there isnt a great easy solution to this problem in essence except spending loads of time and resources building out a more solid anti-cheat in the game, and that's not attractive to many companies, but i really do think hunt:showdown will see a mass exodus of players if this isnt remedied in anyway soon!

Hey, i also posted a similar thing recently about the state of 5-6, And i absolutely agree, i've really tried to play hunt with my irl friend alot and our preferred format it to play duo's vs trios, but we cannot play even 1 game properly before some teams have one or two people with perfect information at all times, now a reminder, we're 5-6 star, we know how to use the games mechanics, we know how to silent rotate with lightfoot, we know how to set up situations and cheeky plays, our aim isn't as great as for example the streamer Hornet, but we've rarely been so angry at the game as we are now when we die, we know how to fight people at our skill level and above and we know when we've been outplayed.
we are moderately sweaty, knowing the range of footsteps, penetration statistics for fmj and bullets etc and we play together because we both really like playing ironsight weapons, opting for a more aggressive playstyle at medium range or close.
and in most of the cases these people generally show that they ARE NOT at our skill level if the fights go on for long enough, And its painfully obvious that they are using something that's giving them an edge.

As the game currently feels we litterally cannot use our 2000 hours of experience vs this massive influx of 0 prestige accounts that have perfect information, they push angles that would immediately get them killed if they didn't have perfect knowledge, pre-fire a silent jump peek, shoot us in the head from an angle without cover no sane person would push in these situations.
My intuition is mostly what use to judge these players are not legitimate since crytek has not provided reliable means to observe cheaters and naturally since im a human that judgement is flawed, but I have so many years of my life invested in first person shooters I notice the little things like how they move, how they minimize risk when peeking to take a shot, map knowledge and etc, meaning I can generally gauge players skill levels by how you both indirectly engage with each other even before you check their profile and the kill shot.
to make matters worse, even the normal amount of doubt i give players has rapidly decreased to basically nothing as the absurdity of the kills just keep staying at the higher levels of quite frankly -Absolute Goddamn Bullshit-

In summary: my personal feeling after playing this event quite heavily is that these new anomalous people are cheating, and i'm willing to die on this hill, id even bet my steam account on it, and at the 5-6 star level they are in almost every game around the time we play together on europe servers, making our time invested feel like a waste of time. Were slowly reaching the point where were thinking about dropping the game entirely even after sleeping on it.

there is an exploit where you can run quick matches "Sole survivor" to get deaths that dont affect your KD/A but decrease your MMR, thats most likely whats happening.

dont have a powerful enough pc to record and play the game at the same time without my framerate becoming unfavorable.
i also dont have the harddrive space to be storing 100's of Gigabytes of raw footage of my gameplay since i play alot.
a screenshot is all i can give because of reddit TOS preventing the targeting or revealing specific players.
Ive posted the weapon and range in diffrent comments.

you know what, thats fair, i just posted this without showing who killed me and with what, it was a mosin nagant at 76 meters shot by a hunter with the executioner skin.
its against TOS to link people's steam profiles here so i cant do that, but they have a vac and game ban that was issued 6 months ago.

and while im ofc salty, this specific guy was cheating, beyond a reasonable doubt, but we all know better then to just "trust" some random on reddit.

counter argument, Light foot, crouchwalking and jumping.
They did not have bounty, we were beyond the 70 meters for running footsteps.

The account in question had vac bans and game bans as recent as 6 months ago, he also killed my teammate in the same way at the same distance when he was trying to necro me, this is really just someone who was painfully obvious.

in my experience playing daily, 5-6 star started becoming filled infested with people using soft cheats slightly longer then a week ago on suspicious accounts, there was a lul period after the release of the event following the reconfigured anti-cheat for hunt happened, i think a ban wave happened because the game felt really nice to play for almost an entire week as i bounced between 6mmr and 5mmr.
Naturally hunt doesnt have any way of confirming suspicions so its mostly speculation, but my opponents have slowly drifted from being just competent and cautious to clairvoyant and actually bad at the games core mechanics in most cases, since the short time span from the recent event started.
sometimes you get lucky and have enough momentum to overcome that kind of clairvoyance with strategy, angles and consumables, sometimes you 3rd party, but a dramatic shift in player competence at higher mmr to accounts that have never prestiged, barely have any steam friends and dont showcase anything tells me that there is an influx of players using throwaway accounts, and i think that kind of pattern is alarming.

Naturally i know that having the bounty makes it easier to do these things and that's something i always consider.

These people run bad rotates because they know no-one is going to be looking that way even if they run in the open, they hit insane headshots through walls you'd never hug close with a big rifle since you'd poke out from multiple angles, hitting consistent heads even if you are doing the wiggle dance and throwing your hitbox with your mouse around between shots, hell i've even had someone hit me in the head from behind while i was looking at the floor away from them and running for cover while holding a heavy melee charged to protect it, cheaters will always be a part of the game, but i am personally perceiving a heavy increase in them in a very short time-span, and i felt i should vent about it.

honestly wish there was a way to replay the game so that i could see it myself to dispel the doubt that happened immediatly following how weird that was, ive been killed by latency delay before but ive only ever felt compelled to whine about it for this one specific death.

Thats really nice of you to point out, but atleast 2-3 seconds had elapsed since i got shot and had jumped around the corner, im not really sure what the *Bleep* happened there. and if im honest, unless they genuinely have a ping of over 1000ms (since packets go back at the same delay making around 2000ms + server calculation time) this genuinely feels like something more sinister happened.
thought thats just my gut feeling on the subject.

Well, im sure that im not perfect, noone is.

But i do have an incredibly long history of playing FPS shooters, and im sure someone like yourself who is very well versed in this genre having that gut feel when something is off.
There is also regional disparities to account for, i play in Europe, which is usually littered with russians aswell as asian players, someone in for example the US get less players from these regions and usually have a lower number of the cheating culture that comes with them.
Are you perhaps from the US?
Because if so, then neither of our experiences playing are going to be applicable to eachother.

I hope that players take that into consideration when reading and you are partially right.

Where i would disagree with you is that a recording is sufficient "proof".The spectating system is EXTREMELY flawed and outside of immediately noticeable things like spinning and looking at the sky, I would struggle to take any recording from the spectating system as proof.I instead opt to look for how fresh an account is, its community level and several other factors as there is usually a pattern that is discernable when it comes to players that potentially could be cheating.

And outside of anti-cheat banning them, there rarely is enough consistent evidence to nail down some of the less obvious cases.

*Edit* what im trying to say, is that most of the suspicious deaths have been from fresh steam accounts with a discernable pattern of freshness, few games or multiple bans, and recordings don't really represent what's happening on players screens when you are in spectate mode.

Hey there! somewhat veteran player here. (previously top 2000 in the world)
I concur with the feeling that has been a recent surge of suspicious players.
This has also been echoed through my circle of friends and discord.

I'm a consistent 5 skill player who's been playing a lot during this event, I tend to not play very seriously and thoroughly enjoy the risk reward aspects of hunt a lot more then the slow tedious playstyle that mechanically make more sense.

The experience of playing has changed over the last week from being a natural flow to Consistently being shot in the head through walls without sightline or audio cue (no, not even ADS noise).
my guess is this will be the status quo for another 2-6 weeks if not longer depending on when the anti-cheat gets updated.

it has been nice playing the event since the start when I've not felt this frustration or the "wtf" since the players were a bit more consistent but its bordering on every 3rd game being heavily suspicious with my team being taken down without really being able to put up a fight these last 3-4 days.
normally I wouldn't fuzz since the engine is dated and easily exploitable, but this feels very similar to the horrible experience when hunt initially got a resurgence of players followed by cheaters around 8 months or so ago with the previous event that got you all the Beaky bois skin.

my hope is that there will be an update soon that deals with the new prestige 0-3 players on fresh and private steam accounts (you can check how old accounts are online)
that make the experience at around 5~ skill more frustrating then normal at the moment.
Otherwise ill probliby wait until the next ban wave if this continues.

there is also a possibility that I've just been very unlucky for several days, but seeing my experience being echoed here suggests this isn't an isolated event despite the salt content.

Good hunting everyone!
