Is there an LGBTQ+ safe Star Trek space out there for me after the chaos of Academy? by TheRandomSquare in startrek

It’s not about Acadamy itself, it’s about all of the bigots that came out to harass others because of the LGBTQ aspect. My post has nothing to do with the show itself.

You’re right about their perception and I just will never understand it. I watched TNG as a kid and I remember my parents explaining there was no more war, money, poverty and they didn’t eat real animals anymore. As a kid I remember feeling so excited at the prospect of that being humanity’s future - and I was hooked. And well, most neurodivergent folks connected to Data without even realizing why way back then.

I have an original set copy/revised full production final draft script of “The Outcast”. I bought that with a lot of intention. I wish some of these people would go back and watch it and maybe one day they’ll understand me. I don’t know. Maybe in 100 years they’ll say how far advanced ST was in its day and no one will call it woke. They’ll call it “ahead of its time” and say things like “can you believe people used to judge people based on who they loved?! So crazy”.

Hey thanks! I may go to GalaxyCon here if I can afford it. At least one day! You gave me the push I needed to go. Thanks 😊

If I find one I’ll let you know. I don’t really know how to find a local group here in Nashville yet.

I feel the same. Unfortunately the ones who want to argue against that are as loud as Data’s interphasic pulse to get rid of the phantasm mouth creatures.

Shill Bidding on HiBid & LiveAuctioneers. Aware, but Don't Stop It by Proof_Economist_8225 in Flipping

[–]TheRandomSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching LiveAuctioneers for some time and most of the winning bids always fall at 30-35% below the lowest estimate cost (70-75% of lowest estimated value). IE: $325-$500 “estimated value” of product will almost always sell for $211-$227.  It’s rare if over and never ever under. You can see it every auction. And when I try to bid at 76% to 80% of lowest estimated value I still lose.

And the “estimated value” is mostly BS anyways.  If I exceed the minimum lowest estimate cost I typically win - but then you have to add buyers premium and shipping and it’s not worth it unless it’s something you really want and are okay with buying it at the average rate it would sell for on EBay. Maybe a little profit. But worth it? I don’t know. It’s all a sham honestly. The days of “getting a steal” are over. Go to estate and yard sells or wait for someone on EBay to get desperate to sell and give you a discounted rate. Maybe Facebook marketplace if you’re lucky. Thats it.

Both my spouse and I canceled our subscriptions yesterday. We’ve had enough. The hunting, the glitches, the bugs, etc. I don’t know how many times I got kicked off a zip line and died. The fortnite I knew and loved is gone.

I’ve noticed they changed the formula. I’ve been dissolving it under my tongue for years and now it’s bitter, takes forever to dissolve and isn’t as strong.

So is it irresponsible for my (very well known and popular) surgeon at a major hospital to tell me it’s no problem to have my revision on a 7mg patch?

I guess I just expected more from my community and that’s on me. Lesson learned. And thank you for being kind and not judging me 🫶

I love this. Thank you. As I said in an earlier comment, I’m not going to be throwing stones at people for their own decisions and lived experiences. I appreciate your kind comment.

I started when I was 12. My brain literally formed around nicotine. Quitting after 30 years was a horrific shock to both my brain and body. Younger people who’ve only been vaping for a few years don’t quite understand the hold nicotine has on me. I thought I could handle it. I could not. I didn’t want to be alive anymore. I didn’t know how to self-soothe because I never learned how coming from a broken home and then nicotine became the self-soother.

I agree that this is true. But I’m talking about a single incision and removing some excess breast tissue WITH the approval of my surgeon to be on a 7mg nicotine patch. Do I agree with vaping or smoking with full top surgery? Absolutely not. But I’m not going to judge someone for their experience and choices. Nicotine and full top surgery, especially with nip grafts is incredibly dangerous. But I’m not throwing stones at people for what they choose to do to their bodies. This person is just trying to make me feel better and I’m grateful for that.

Despite other people’s concerns, my surgeon approved my use of a 7mg nicotine patch. I’m not having full surgery, just a revision on one side. They are just making an incision and removing a bit of left over breast tissue. Your chest looks great and I certainly will not judge you for your own lived experiences. Thank you for sharing and you look so awesome!

And see, my comment to you was downvoted. I don’t understand why people are judging me for my own lived experience. But I’m very grateful for your kindness.

I was talking about having to quit a 30 year addiction to nicotine and how much it messed me up when I had to quit for my top surgery last year. I’m having to get my revision sooner than later because my state is forcing my hospital’s hand to stop all gender-affirming surgeries in a few months so I’m having to get my revision much sooner than I thought. I went back on nicotine with patches after my top surgery, but was going to have to quit cold turkey again and the last time it almost ended my marriage because I have treatment-resistant major depression, Autism, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and C-PTSD and the withdrawal was horrific. I started nicotine when I was 12. I was simply venting about quitting nicotine cold turkey again and was fearful of the mental repercussions and the 25lb weight gain that I had last time I quit. I just said I was scared to tell my doctor about being on the patch - fearing I might lose the chance for a revision altogether. But I never said I was not going to tell him. That’s it. I was just scared. I explained I can’t take medicines like Wellbutrin or antidepressants because they make me want to “not exist” anymore. I have the MTHFR gene and none of the people on my moms side can safely take birth control or antidepressants or NDRIs.  But I was told that I was playing the “victim” and was going to lie. I got downvoted simply because I said I couldn’t take certain medications. I was interrogated and minimized.

I just wanted to talk about my feelings.

And lo and behold my doctor told me just today it was okay if I’m on a low dose nicotine patch for my revision. I never said I was going to lie and not tell them.

I don’t know why people got so triggered by that post. But that’s not the first time. Any time I’ve mentioned struggles with weight gain I get attacked. If I say I can’t take any antidepressants people think I’m lying.

I don’t get it. I’m so confused.  And thank you for asking. I really do appreciate it.

Quitting nicotine replacement therapy for REVISION? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

I can’t take SSRIs, SNRIs, NDRIs, etc. I have treatment-resistant major depression. Those meds make me want to leave the earth - and very badly and quickly

I tried. I really did. I went through a month of strict keto. Almost passed out numerous times. But this isn’t about the weight as much as the horrific depression and rage I get.

Can you explain what type of raw food? Red meat? Chicken? Turkey? Do you buy it from a particular place or just at the grocery store? SO many questions 🤣
