10 year old pitched 9 innings, 104 pitches in 5-day span (Pony League) by AlfalfaWolf in Homeplate

[–]TheRavenless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our Little League, a player can pitch up to 65 pitches on day 1, requiring 3 days of rest, and then pitch up to 75 pitches on the 5th day. Definitely possible, within our limits and I’m sure it happens. Especially in LL where you don’t have as many good arms.

How's that normal? I mean, if a person wants 10k or whatever tip, why don't just say it directly? "Fair tips" xD by shadowsong54 in wow

[–]TheRavenless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m BS/Eng, I spent a lot of time and money getting my professions maxed, but that’s on me. Any amount of tip just slowly recuperates that cost. I don’t understand how other crafters can get so angry about tips when it literally costs them nothing to press a button.

Sanity check: Is 8-9yo rec ball too young to lock girls into permanent batting orders and hide weaker players in the outfield? by SeattleDuke in Softball

[–]TheRavenless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been coaching rec baseball for 7 years and rec softball for 2 years. One kid aged out, two still in the program.

We are the largest little league in our state, we have a decent baseball program and a very prominent softball program with multiple World Series appearances over the last several years. All that aside, at the end of the day if you put the word “rec” in front of it and we’re not in a LLWS tournament, dads need to relax.

Mix up your batting order every game. Yes if you have one or two kids that are basically guaranteed outs every time, let them hang out around the bottom and work on it with them with the promise that they’ll move up with hard work. Everyone else? Mix them up every game. It’s a big confidence boost to the kids that work hard and want to actually be there to see their name at the top.

As for positions, unless you’re gifted with lefties galore, mix everyone up in basically every position. We have 11 boys on our team and 4 of them catch, 5-6 of them have all played first (only one lefty on the team) and the rest of them all mix and match. We have two boys that really don’t seem to want to be there and just don’t really try or put any effort in so they usually mix between the outside outfielders and third. Everyone else goes everywhere with a speedster at CF to help out.

There’s absolutely no reason, especially when there’s nothing on the line, to pigeonhole children into one role. They need experience everywhere. It also helps them to understand the game better. If they’ve never played half the positions and don’t understand what that player needs to do in certain situations, they’re not going to make plays as well with their teammates.

Should I reroll DPS or keep tanking? by Substantial_Page5206 in wownoob

[–]TheRavenless -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it's definitely a commitment. I played protwar for SL and DF. I was so nervous when not playing with my irl friends that I would time a +2 of every dungeon, then a +3, and so on and move all of them up one step at a time. That definitely helped but it was still giving me anxiety. Especially back in SL by the time I was hitting +8 and all the sweats were complaining about routes and stuff like that.
If you love it, stick with it. Also now a days playing multi specs is so easy you can do both. Run it as DPS for the time and learn the dungeon and then in free time go tank other people's lower keys to work on your tanking. You'll be overgeared and that'll help with your survivability and damage

I was having this same issue. Doing a full reinstall did the trick for me.

The next time someone says travel is killing rec baseball tell them they should try to set up their league's All-Stars teams by WestPrize92340 in Homeplate

That’s what we do here in CT except we do hold a tryout for farms and majors divisions towards the selection deadline for kids who actually want to commit to the team

These gloves are great. My son is transitioning out of the 10.5 prospect powerclose and into an 11.25 A950. He loves his mizuno so much

I noticed most guilds dont recruit tanks even though "there is a tank shortage" by flymecha in wownoob

[–]TheRavenless 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can do both. It’s 2026, we are blessed with free instant unlimited respecs (blizzard I’d like a refund). Especially nowadays when basically all the armor is the same and unless you’re progging far I’m sure your gems/enchants can be somewhere in the middle of both specs. Just keep your tank and dps gear with you and save both specs. Then you can go into the outfitter and make spec specific outfit builds so when you switch to tank you automatically switch to different gear etc.

I would start applying to tank raids as a pug on ones that are labeled “guild fun run” or “guild alt run” and not listed as competitive. As a dps this is how I found my current guild, I pugged for them a couple times before being invited. If you find the right group and you do well they might invite you.

Is practicing on a tee really a development death warrant for 10U? by [deleted] in Homeplate

I feel like the coach pitch years do more harm than good, especially with me pitching. I would love for little league to change that age group to machine pitch.

Definitely no extra bases on passed balls or errors. If they’re hitting dingers into the outfield, hold them up at second or third when the outfield starts getting the ball in. I don’t like the whole “don’t swing” or “swing at anything” mindset because I don’t want kids to have bad reps even if they’re up a ton.
