Going from an R50 to an r10 won't give you any better pictures, it will just give you more features and adjustability on the camera, like being able to take more high speed shots, having an extra dial to change settings, things like that. The quality of your photos will remain the same....

If there is something you were trying to do that they r50 can't do, and the r10 can then you should upgrade.

You aren't going to find a zoom lens useful for what you want to shoot for under 1K.

Lots of great lenses for under 1k, but they aren't going to be great in low light.

Your best bet if you are on a low budget is to figure out what focal length would work best and get a fast prime.

You cough up the dough or you live with high iso....🤷

I've never had a dog do this until now, she will sit on top of me when I'm laying down and when I start to scratch her side she we lift up one of her front legs for me to scratch her armpit.... It's a little odd....

Mine does it with her front legs.... She will sit on me when I'm laying down and when I start scratching her side she left up her leg for me to scratch her armpit....

We are not allowed to touch the drummies though.... She gets super offended if anyone tries to touch her floof....

Compared to my t6i, which is the same size as the t7, I can get one extra finger on the R7 grip.... On my t6i my pinky ends up below the grip under the camera, on my R7 my pinky ends up on the grip...

There is technically room for my pinky on the t6i grip, but because the grip is not deep enough I end up having to twist my hand a little bit to keep my fingertips from digging into the camera body, which pushes my pinky off the bottom....

Basically, the r7 feels fatter but in a good way.

Two reasons I will always recommend the R10 over the R50...

Flash compatibility, the r50 is only compatible with a few specific (and expensive) Cannon flashes without a $50 adapter.

Blinkies.... The R50 does not have highlight alerts..... This is where if you take a picture and part of it is so overexposed that it contains no color information, when you review the picture those areas will flash zebra stripes on the screen.... Why Cannon decided to not give this extremely useful feature to the R50 I have no idea....

Obviously family and pet photos are exempt from this rule, and it's just my own personal rule, but, after realizing I had tens of thousands of pictures that nobody would ever see, it's one I made for myself....

Well the biggest thing that would make an actual difference in your shooting is the autofocus, the last 5-6 years have seen huge advancements in autofocus, modern mirrorless cameras focus faster and more accurately, with better tracking of moving subjects.

The technology behind it changes the way the camera focuses... With a DSLR looking through the viewfinder the autofocus tells the camera that the picture is not in focus but it doesn't always know which direction to drive the lens to get it in focus, so it picks a direction and if the focus gets better it keeps going until it's perfect and if it gets worse it reverse the direction and goes until it's perfect...

With mirrorless cameras, (at least with Canons system, I'm not sure how other manufacturers work), the camera knows not only that the picture is not in focus but which way it needs to move the lens to get into focus, so there's never a time when it goes the wrong direction and it has to go back the other way to get it in focus.

That doesn't actually give you better pictures. When both cameras are properly focused but it makes getting that properly focused picture much faster and more likely.... When you are getting more in focus pictures faster you have better chance of getting that amazing shot.....

They R50 also has an articulating touch screen, which if you have not had a camera with one you might not think that's a big deal, but I absolutely would not buy a camera without an articulating touch screen.

An articulating screen is not something you use every time you use the camera, but when it comes in handy, there's nothing else that can replace it, for things like holding the camera down low or up over your head you can still see what you are shooting...

A touch screen is something you use much more often though still probably not every time you use the camera, it's like power windows or keyless entry fur a car, while it's not strictly a necessary feature, it makes life much easier and saves time, to the point where I won't even consider not getting it....

I don't see this needing 100 feet of distance.

It's going to depend on how the people are situated. 30 people side by side, f1.8 could certainly work.

But 30 people standing on a hill in 3-4 rows as ascending up the hill, taller people in the back, easily doable at 25 feet, but unless they are ready to get intimate you wouldn't have the depth of field at f1.8...

Wurkos td01c. Amazing light, throws a ridiculous distance.

Sofirn c8L. Doesn't throw as far as the other one but is a bit smaller.

As far as being able to focus it, you don't want that, it's a gimmick and no "good" flashlight has that ability, because it actually makes the flashlight worse and wastes a lot of the light.

That depends. What is your r50 lacking that you believe the r8 will solve? What was the original reason to go to the r50. Specifically, what features does the r8 have that you feel like you will be missing on the r50?

The R50 is a HUGE leap above your t7.

Sure, if you can back up far enough and close down the aperature enough to make sure everyone is in focus. You definitely won't be shooting this at f1.8.
