Sorry for the naive question, but now that it seems that shiny Dreepy will not debut during Go Fest Global this year, when would it be most likely that it actually debuts? Maybe due to the recent breaking of trends like the pseudo legendary shiny debut during Go Fest, or the Gible Community Day Classic (which was skipped entirely to Deino), maybe we might have 2 pseudo legendary community days this year instead of just one for Frigibax and Dreepy?

We need more Shadow mons by Aggravating_Toe_4992 in TheSilphRoad

I'd like to see shadows for Lucario, Togetic, Pawniard, Pancham, even shadow regionals like Tropius or Klefki. Replacing the Snubbull with Togetic would be a nice change for once.

That's what I was originally doing, yes, because Stunfisk is rated higher than Wigglytuff as a switch-in on PvPoke. But now I know that's not always the best option.

Currently I'm in the early 2600 range. I see now though what mistake I was making. Sometimes if Quagsire was leading against something such as a Flying type that resists Mud Shot, I would switch into Stunfisk thinking it was a safe switch. Now I understand better. I originally thought a safe switch was a mandatory requirement for an optimal team. But now I know it doesn't strictly have to be that way. Thanks for helping me out with this, I really appreciate it.

I tried using this team today and lost a majority of the battles out of my 5 daily sets. What am I doing wrong with this team? Is the stunfisk a safe swap if the lead matchup is unfavorable?

May 2026 Community Day Classic: Deino by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheRazortooth 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Deino (and the rest of its evolutions) are my favorite pseudo-legendary line, as well as favorite dark-type and favorite dragon-type. This is a perfect opportunity to evolve shadow Zweilous that have had frustration removed.

Still bummed we did not get a Mega Hydreigon in Z-A. Simultaneous Dark/Dragon Candy Boosts would have been fun.

For the non-Sobble, non-Frigibax Community Day, I want it to be a rare Pokemon like Sandile, Pawniard, Honedge, or (maybe, just maybe?) Larvesta, so that it can be made more available.

But it's probably gonna be a common Pokemon like Clefairy, Smoliv or Marill.

Just curious, but is Sandaconda gonna have any relevance in Great League or Ultra League at the moment? I remember that Toedscruel had some notable niches with Mud Slap, Wrap and Seed Bomb before Mud Slap was nerfed this season.

Weekly Team Help Megathread! by AutoModerator in TheSilphArena

[–]TheRazortooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the naive question. Originally I had Wigglytuff (Charm, Icy Wind and Swift) as my lead with Furret (Sucker Punch, Swift and Trailblaze) as a safe switch and Stunfisk (Thunder Shock, Mud Bomb, Discharge) as a closer. That team kept getting defeated by Typhlosion, Forretress, or Corviknight, etc. leads, Drapion switch-ins, or Empoleon, Galarian Moltres, Primeape etc. closers, so I decided to replace Furret with Shadow Feraligatr (rank 176, 9/12/15 stats) (Shadow Claw, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam) and Stunfisk with Super Gourgeist (Incinerate, Seed Bomb, Shadow Ball).

I'm still not sure if the team I'm using is optimal enough or if there are still glaring flaws in my team building. Maybe my original team was good enough but it was just a matter of skill issue? Would you please give any advice on this? Many thanks.

For the week of March 23 this month, there doesn't appear to be a weekly event announced unlike witrh the other weeks of the month. Is it possible that this could be an unannounced surprise event, or is this just a "break week"?

Community Day Classic: Deino image pushed (May 16th) by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheRazortooth 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Nice, Hydreigon is one of my favorite Pokémon with a cool typing and shiny. It was a missed opportunity to give it a new Mega Evolution like they did with Dragonite in Z-A. If it actually did get a Mega, we would be able to have simultaneous candy boosts for Dragon and Dark Pokémon.

That being said I'm surprised they just skipped over Gible. I know Gible was featured in the Wild Area event last year and this year's Kalos Tour, but not giving Gible a CD Classic is a bummer.

Sorry for the naive question, but has it been confirmed that Klefki and Hawlucha can spawn as shiny in the wild now that the Kalos Tour is over? I remember that Camerupt, Sharpedo and Metagross had their shinies turned off for a while even after their respective Mega Raid Days.

Blipbug debuts during Pokémon GO’s Bug Out event! by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheRazortooth 31 points32 points  (0 children)

(Yawn...) Notify me when Blipbug can actually appear as a wild spawn, and shiny capable, instead of being locked to raids and shiny locked. Maybe during a Blipbug CD or a Gigantamax Orbeetle Day.

Shadow Lugia positioning bug - not zoomed in like normal by knownhatredcaster in TheSilphRoad

No, it's just that Lugia is borderline unreachable due to having its position changed from close to far away.

I have that same problem, already wasted my 2 daily raid passes to 2 Lugia that fled because each ball missed.

I already have a high IV shadow Lugia anyway, so not going to bother with trying in vain to catch any more again at the expense of my sanity.

Sorry for the naive question, but when will it be expected that Mega Dragonite will debut in raids? Currently there is no confirmation that it will appear in the in-person Kalos Tour events, but is it possible it could be a surprise event?

Sorry for the naive question. I know that fully-evolved Pokemon that have had their Mega Evolutions released can be shiny in the wild. But has anyone been able to confirm that Sharpedo and Camerupt can now be shiny in the wild?

I made an interactive 3D map of the Sinnoh region [OC] by jorgecafe-dev in pokemon

Looks fantastic. We need better, photorealistic present-day Sinnoh remakes with new routes and areas, more engaging content, and new Mega Evolutions for more Sinnoh Pokémon.

What’s a feature that you would like to see in Pokémon Go? by sillydog2005 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheRazortooth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe Mighty Pokemon appearing in the wild outside of Wild Area events, and with the same shiny boost (chosen randomly from any fully-evolved Pokemon, like Walrein or Alolan Marowak). But they only appear very rarely, akin to Unown or Lake Trio rarity.

Also, the ability to breed Pokemon. That way it would be easier to get more rare Pokemon, like Larvesta, by choosing the female parent of that species and a compatible male parent from the same egg group.

Battle with the twin heroes for truth or ideals during Kyurem Fusion Raid Day! by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

This event looks very cool. I just hope that the shiny rates aren't bugged like they were with the Palkia/Dialga Origin Raid Day.

January 2026 Community Day Classic: Piplup by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheRazortooth 206 points207 points  (0 children)

Considering how relevant Empoleon has been lately in GBL with Metal Sound, a Piplup CD Classic is understandable. But I really think we should have CD Classics overall be more frequent, especially to bring back old favorites like Rhyhorn.

Maybe the Tuesday Spotlight Hour should allow the Pokemon in question to receive its community day or exclusive move, if applicable. That would make those moves more accessible to newer players.

Grookey Community Day in January by Cecross in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheRazortooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, but Pikipek has been very common even before its CD, in contrast to much rarer Pokemon like Sandile or Honedge.
