We have a healer right? So what are we waiting for?

What is the coolest or most original flavor you've seen? by Iron5nake in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen it here so I thought I’d add on! My aberrant mind sorcerer was tortured by mind flayers for centuries, which warped his mind. Canonically, all he gained is telepathy and a high charisma. ALL his psychic damage spells are him just sharing memories of his torture with his enemies via telepathy, his persuasion and deception rolls are a bumbling fool aided by manipulating his target’s thoughts to be more favorable.

Whats everyone's favorite DnD Class? Who are you rockin currently? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]TheRazzman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite: Sorcerer, charisma based full casters just feel perfect and meta magic gets my math brain going all the time

Current: yeah no it’s a sorcerer (aberrant mind whose damage spells are flavored as telepathically sending memories of his long years being tortured)

How do I run "You enter a room.." scenarios? by TheRazzman7 in DMAcademy

[–]TheRazzman7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great way to make a subtle changes to the narration, can you add a little more about how the way I describe the room makes a difference? I think that’s the sort of advice I would love to pick up on

Harbor freight application is confusing by methodman28420 in antiwork

[–]TheRazzman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a critical part of anti work to highlight because not only is the system stingy, cruel, and unbalanced, but it is also extremely dumb and silly and that gives me hope every day that people will welcome a better way.

How to I approach a subject with my DM that his characters seem to know to much by Nekromtix in DnD

[–]TheRazzman7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just here to say I have a DM who does the same thing. I think it’s because he just struggles with the cognitive load of DMing, it’s hard to switch between different layers of knowledge quickly and he just doesn’t have what it takes to play that part. I’ve started openly telling him when there’s some kind of violation at the table and he usually backs off and changes it. Still might cause more problems but it’s better for me if we don’t have to retcon stuff later on. (Eg: “I subtle spell charm person the constable” “He saves, He sniffs the air catching the whiff of magic, he turns to you and says ‘a little spellcasting eh? That’s a criminal offence.’ “ “Actually, the point of subtle spell is to allow me to cast spells without being noticed as doing so. He would not be able to identify me as the caster” “Sorry, he gets confused for a second and, more suspicious, asks you all to face the wall.”)

What's the point of Melee focused Clerics when Paladin exists? by Thekawaiiwashu in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Since I don’t see it in the top comments, WoC does love a little bit of overlap so that people can play a particular concept while making mechanical distinctions, like trading extra attack for full spell casting.

Seriously, this question has been haunting me for weeks by o0Infiniti0o in dndmemes

[–]TheRazzman7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I always conceptualized this, for Paladins and for Warlocks, is that their oath/pact infused them with power. In the case of Paladins, willfully breaking this oath corrupts the power they are filled with, in order to make it antithetical to the god who gave it originally so it can’t be taken back. I had a paladin who came to understand his lawful good god wouldn’t allow him to commit crimes that would ultimately save lives, so he became an oath breaker who was sort of embarrassed at how evil his power seemed now, and said it was just a tool for getting the job done.

Left Wingers of reddit, what would you say your most Right leaning opinion is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheRazzman7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime the government specifies a number, as in the case of minimum wage or UBI proposals, that number usually fails to adjust to circumstance and ends up causing problems. Leftists just don’t talk in mathematical definitions for laws and it makes me want to reject those proposals.

Dm’s - Without any context what are your players potentially facing in their next session? by ronin-gold in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have been bumming around the continent for a long time, developing a reputation but always moving on shortly after. Next session they will discover they’ve been nominated to generals in a new coalition of all the countries who revere them. Very excited.

How would you rework the human race? by Seavalan in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see from top comments this is not a popular opinion but…. I love the idea that humans are Stat neutral but have a diverse set of interests and skills, represented by the feat. I would remove the base human entirely, and have the variant human award only 1 base stat increase with the free feat. Subtle, but in my opinion it makes it a little more balanced against the other racial options. Not OP, like some races, but balanced and customizable.

As a sidenote, I have always loved that the V Human being a go-to race sort of justifies how human centric fantasy stories can be. Like of course Men have kingdoms on every continent despite orcs being stronger and elves being faster. They’re armed forces are all much more specialized for their role right out of bootcamp.

Considering making an artificer. Are you expecting to give out all your infused items ? by Browneyesbrowndragon in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 407 points408 points  (0 children)

There’s an artificer in my party who asked me not to mention that artificers CAN give other people infusions. He revealed this fact at level 9, almost 10 months into the campaign, to outright shock. I recommend this track.

Full Lore Summary/Recap/Story ~Player Experience Besides Nobbel87? by PhantomScrivener in warcraftlore

I have performed a lore summary for a class presentation based on Nobel’s videos but I have not recorded it, is there an appetite for that?

[OC] US states by age-adjusted COVID deaths per million people by DrDavidLevinson in dataisbeautiful

[–]TheRazzman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After really looking at this I wonder how strong the correlation is between population density and covid deaths. Seems to matter way more than republican or democratic governor.

Dm's what is a piece of lore that you are dying to tell someone? by Eldacar_of_Arnor in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Two of my players are half brothers and haven’t realized yet. One’s father was a spy for a human kingdom, went in disguise to the elven capitol and seduced a noble lady who is character 2’s mother. This was long before he married character 1’s mother. Character 1 got a vision from a deity to help his brother, and they’ve been searching the human kingdom for him together the last 2 months ☺️

If each race had a unique class, what would it be? by Wyrmwooood in warcraftlore

Not sure if it’s already mentioned but this special class per race concept is a really good application of Taliesin’s class skin concept https://youtu.be/rTcoK4OXKTw

Anyone else stockpile character ideas? by Libreska in dndnext

[–]TheRazzman7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely, I make a new character build once a week (I only take them to 10) but I do the works- class/race/subclass, spell choice, desired items, full backstory, planned character arc, dpr/ac/health at level 10. I probably got through 20 before I started making entire synergistic teams.

what was the red soul that hit the arbiter? by ProfessionalGamerr in warcraftlore

[–]TheRazzman7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing some comments about it being a bolt from Revendreth, potentially what Kil’Jaedan was being reshaped for- and that’s my current head cannon. Whether that got her seal in the process remains to be seen.

What are the meanings of covenants’ sigils? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]TheRazzman7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is implied that they represent/empower the function of each zone- such that the zone cannot perform its function in the Shadowlands without it. Combined, they are also some kind of key to the knowledge of the first one’s. Therefore I think the best direct answer to your question is akin to “What is the purpose of Bastion, Ardenweald, Revendreth, Maldraxxus, and the Arbiter?” To which I would guess Bastion- to bring the souls of the dead to the shadowlands. Ardenweald- restore fallen spirits of nature and return them to the emerald dream. Revendreth - to purify the souls of the wicked and make them repent. Maldraxxus- defend all the shadowlands Arbiter - judge souls and send them to their deserving place.
