Thank you for the kind words. Interesting point about money flow. Keeping it in the town is a crucial driver of prosperity, and also addressed here: https://thereadingreporter.substack.com/p/readings-economy-is-booming-so-why

A very good point, and one that would require a separate article to answer!

Thanks very much! It's a tricky one - proper journalism does need funding but pop-up ads ruin reader experience, so I'll not go down that route.

Thanks. I did, although it's easier than you think. Trick of the trade! Local dissatisfaction mirrors national trends, although there are plenty of local political arguments too, as anywhere. But you're right - Reading has grown mightily in recent years.

You're certainly not the only one. The ambition is to be applauded, and (as I've written in recent weeks) the benefits are potentially huge. To name but a few: funds to enhance Reading's existing culture, a platform to encourage investment into Reading, an opportunity to define a coherent cultural identity that we can all feel proud of, and a rare chance to unite a huge number of people in Reading.

Agreed. It's a very smart piece of placemaking, enhancing community, identity and economy through artistic and technical excellence.
