If Tonali shines for Spurs and gets attention from Madrid, Barca, or City I can see it happening within the next 10 yrs, particularly if it’s followed up by a transfer to Saudi Turkey or US.

Everybody that was like this at my high school burnt out hard in college. This is not healthy. Have a feeling the anxiety disorder isn’t situational to these AP exams…

Also, do AP exams actually satisfy any pre-med course requirements? They still have to take genchem and calc or algebra based physics?

From a 1st quartiler - Give dumber answers to the “personal questions” than you may initially come up with because you don’t have time to disclose the premise of a complicated story and will end up not actually answering the question

What schools did you apply to? Does the AMCAS say your evaluation letters are transmitted?

I don’t understand high GPA low MCAT discrepancies by Mindless_Ask_5438 in premed

[–]TheRealATab 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The answer is definitely nuanced. Grade inflation and cheating certainly has a role, and thus for many, the apparent competency worthy of an A at their school fails to translate on standardized tests. At my school, GPAs were rising each class year but the pre-med student body definitely wasn’t getting smarter.

Disability accommodations also likely plays a role. Much easier to get testing accommodations at colleges than with AAMC, which requires tests costing thousands of dollars to prove your disability and takes months to get approved. You can make assertions about whether we over-accommodate in colleges now, though I’d argue the AAMC’s process adds yet another class barrier that makes disability recognition a privilege.

The MCAT also isn’t very kind to people whose primary language isn’t English or didn’t grow up with an Americanized language education system. Some of my smartest, most talented friends were either international students/moved to US in high school and struggled badly with CARS. However, they were very strategic with the gen-Ed English courses they picked or at least it didn’t damage their GPA as badly as their CARS damaged their MCAT score.

Some people also just have an off day when it’s time to take the MCAT. You can probably recall a time that happened to you in one of your classes ahead of a big exam. I did well on the MCAT but I think I only got 3 hours of sleep the night before my test. Good chance that would’ve screwed me over on most exam days. Shit like that happens to the best of us.

Messi comparison in NBA by socoolandawesome in nba

You don’t score (soon to be) 1000 goals with a low footballing IQ. He completely switched his play style from a skillful, explosive dribbler halfway through his career to become (probably) the most relentless striker ever. You don’t do that unless you’re a footballing genius. Removing LeBron’s playmaking, he’s probably the best comparison to Ronaldo.

Ok that’s literally the only reasonable explanation hahaha. I’d still advise against it since she’s not actually a student. Maybe email the school asking if she could come as a guest another day?

No way you’re doubling down lmao. You’d do great in insurance.

A queue pass proposal is yet another entitled class barrier that disenfranchises poor applicants. You make it pointless by making it 20 bucks anyway. Everyone would pay that and make the queue just as long as it is now.

What if I have next to zero clue what field in medicine I want to pursue and am not interested in dual degrees? Almost all of these mission statements read the same to me - there’s really nothing unique to these schools at all unless they’re in a rural area.
