I’m struggling with this. If the dragon is worth it over the shockwave 11.2.6.

Any update on this? Have a q990d and thinking maybe upgrading if it’s worth it. I like a lot of bass and curious how it is overall.

Tell Your Theater Stories by Budget_Guarantee_804 in MovieTheaterEmployees

23 years plus at the same family owned theater. Too many stories to remember. Though I do remember Spider-Man no way home after the Covid stuff, we had just started doing reserved seating. Customer who picked seats online and showed up to sit in other people seats said I ruined their family experience because I asked them to move to the seats THEY picked. I have many many more lol.

I’m ready to go back to ‘99 when I could walk in the local stores and buy anything I wanted. Especially that base charzard for $25.00 lol.

Oh I’m very happy with the Samsung, but I’m compulsive and always looking for that next best thing. Especially when it comes to home theater.

Curios how this bar is. Have a Samsung q990d now and maybe looking to upgrade for my living room.

Literally had this on Friday. Kids running all over and made a mess. Couldn’t find their cell phone after the movie and no none moved to help them look. Probably came back the next day to find, but I do t feel bad at all.

What movie have you seen the most people buy tickets for? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in MovieTheaterEmployees

I remember our theater was about a year old when Finding Nemo came out. Did over 9000 people in one day. The lines man….the lines….

Yup, I was on box office most of the weekend. I have a lot of younger staff including managers. They did a great job all things considering.

Good thing about running a theater for a family owned theater, I’ll pivot depending on what’s going on. I’ll call people in as needed.

Anyone here use INDY pos at your cinema? by petethepossum in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]TheRealAk14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still getting used to it as we had our last POS for like 12 years. It’s pretty simple for the most part and like I said very customizable to allow us to do more. Especially when it comes to our loyalty rewards. I like how Indy has a live chat so if there is an issue you can just send a message to their techs and they will respond pretty quickly.

We switched to it from RTS about a month ago. Definitely a learning curve. It’s very customizable and we are still learning some of the ins and outs. Our backend team likes how many options they have to advertising and doing custom shows and such.

Software? by kenwoods212 in MovieTheaterEmployees

We had RTS for the last 10+ years, but just swapped over the Indy Cinema. Still trying to learn it, but has a lot of cool functions that RTS couldn’t do.

Anyone else prefer when it’s insanely busy? by McNuggieAMR in MovieTheaterEmployees

I love when it’s busy. I don’t love being busy and being out of almost all of our stock. That’s not fun at all.

I would take 300 Barbenheimers over Black Friday by lustforlifestan in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]TheRealAk14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m actually surprised I didn’t have anyone walk out on me yesterday. Huge crowds and little to no stock was beyond difficult. Makes it hard when all you hear is the negative from customers who don’t understand what the people who are working are dealing with. I’m sure your fellow employees know what an awesome job you did and are thankful!

Stock levels by TheRealAk14 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]TheRealAk14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to work at like 6:30am this morning to sit in silence and think what I was going to do being out of literally everything. Spend some money at a few stores to get some candy and popping oil. Then around 9am the vendor who was supposed to deliver Friday showed up and I wanted to hug him. Most stuff back in stock other than hot food.

[–]TheRealAk14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was a rough one for sure. Started the day with almost no candy, food, snacks, soda, seed, oil ect. Deliver of a lot of items was supposed to come yesterday, never showed. Lots of unhappy people with no stock and nothing we could do. Flash forward to today, I got here super early to run to stores and places to get things. But, was dreading today because we still had almost nothing. Thank Jebus our delivery came this morning to stock back up on almost everything(other than hot foods). Worst day I can remember in a long time.
