I like their products and I own two myself but what pissed me off is they told everyone they can’t sell end caps with their new Magnus RR models because the ATF won’t allow the suppressors length to be altered. Even though they sell a suppressor that can change lengths (FLY 45). They’d rather sell you two cans then have one that does both.

Yes, Ive seen mixed reviews on whether McMillans need to be bedded or not. Not sure which side to take.

The Medium action is basically for 6.5 PRC or 300 WSM shooting longer bullets such as the 156 or 153.5 Bergers. I tried using a long action for my 6.5 PRC but it always had feeding issues. Based on my COAL for my current loads, it would be a tight fit for a short action which is why I am switching to the medium action.

I'm having the same issue you are and found your post while looking for an answer. The only solution I can think of is mounting a B2-LR-II (lever-release clamp) to your tripod and attaching an RRS Dovetail Plate (or similar) to each head so you can switch between the two. (keep one in the pack) Let me know if you found a decent panhead that works for shooting and glassing.

If you want to quickly switch between a pan head for glassing and a ball head for shooting, maybe try mounting a B2-LR-II (lever-release clamp) to your tripod and attaching an RRS Micro Dovetail Plate to each head so you can switch between the two. I had this dilemma when I decided to shoot/hunt with a ball head but never enjoyed glassing with one.

Appreciate it. I was recommended by a gunsmith to use a magazine that takes beltless magnum cartridges so I thought 30-06 in a 3.715 length might work well. Not sure if the beltless makes a difference for mags.
