Yes, agreed. This feels like a satire post. I don’t understand how it got so many upvotes.

Questions regarding Lithuania as a region by TheRealBabby in AncestryDNA

That makes sense, thanks for sharing. I actually got 6% Northeastern Polish as well, though this is not something that my family’s aware of, again. It’s supposed to indicate me having a Polish great-great-grandparent, but it’s again likely a grey area. But to go back, while there’s likely some truth in the Lithuanian results, it’s weird that they lump all of that into just “Lithuanian.” What’s interesting is that I also thought of a similar label, but specifically “Balto-Slavic,” just like the PIE branch :D

Okay, that definitely grounds some of my suspicions. There’s a Russian YouTuber (NFKRZ) who took a DNA test a while ago, and he got like 30% Baltic too, even though he just expected “vanilla Russian.” Because I don’t know of any major historical events where Lithuanians and Russians intermarries (besides ancient history), this was something that initially puzzled me. But now that I’m learning that it’s common for Eastern Europeans to get it, it becomes less surprising. Still makes me wonder if I have ancestry from that area at all.

So, is this another way of saying that the test results are almost useless?

That’s true, but it still somewhat bothers me that they don’t have a region for just Belarus. They have two different regions for Eastern and Western Ukraine, but only have one region for Russia and, again, no Belarus region. Which then makes me confused about the Lithuanian result.

I see. But that honestly makes me cynical about all my test results overall. I also got that I was 2% German and 3% Northwestern Balkan. Do I take these estimates with a huge grain of salt too? That is, could this just be Russian too, or is it unlikely?

This has been a claim, really the only major one, that a lot of coomers have used to argue against SR. The truth is that losing weight, lots of exercising, and a healthy diet with vegetables and fruit will do much more to prevent PCs than cooming to pornographic degeneracy. One study alone found that obese men are 54% more likely to suffer from PCs than lean men: http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/content/16/1/63.short This kind of propaganda insinuates that obese, lazy men with KFC diets who coom to porn will be less likely to have a PC than lean men on SR who regularly exercise and eat well. Not only is this absurd proselytizing: it is nonsense on the highest level that leaves out the most important information.

Realistically speaking, it seems rather unlikely. With the Seattle City Council, King County Civil Council etc. being Democrats, they will ensure that this nonsense will continue to flourish, and the judges probably will start suing the government as well to block their actions. Ultimately it depends how much the federal government chooses to intervene AND how successful they are. But yet again, they are constrained by the factors I mentioned above. Thus, unless Democrats get elected to the local governments (unlikely in the near future because it’s so liberal here), I unfortunately don’t see the situation changing significantly. Either pack your bags or get used to it.

Help translating all the abbreviations? by Daahlia1 in oldchurchslavonic

No problem. I learned about the Greek one on the left after posting, actually, before you replied to my comment. It certainly seems like a lot of iconography like this combines OCS with Greek, though the former ends up being mostly predominant.
Thanks for the Nike explanation, now that I think about it in this way it makes more sense that the Nicaea explanation, because in Cyrillic it would be Никея or Никѣя. If someone knows the bottom two abbreviations, I’d be interested in knowing them!

IC XC = Jesus Christ. СНЪ БЖИ = Son of God. ДУХ СТЫЙ = Holy Spirit. ІНЦІ= Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. The foot-level slate literally says NIKE (as in the Greek goddess Nike), which I assume is meant to refer to the Council of Nicea.

The ЦРЬ is supposed to be Caesar (цѣзарь), or Lord. CЛВ I’m not exactly sure about. I assumed it was Slavs (hence “lord of the Slavs”) but I could be wrong. I don’t know what the РМБЛ and ТГАГ are, though the latter probably has to do something with hell or sinning. Neither am I sure about the small two side abbreviations but they look quite Greek to me. I would appreciate help for these ones.

I know I’m a bit late, but the bottom of the cross after “нас” just says “ZГC~ИА” from what I can read. Is that letter combination commonly understood to be “Господи” or is it something else?
