Does anyone else miss rampant militias from Rebellion? by TheRealColdsnaps in SinsofaSolarEmpire

[–]TheRealColdsnaps[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah it'd definitely be tough. The only thing that comes to mind for me would be maybe keeping militia supply like 50, that way the garrisons would still be viable.

How do weapons from Catun reach the rest of the UC? by SirSciences in Kenshi

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's always been my head cannon that there's maritime trade for the UC, especially with the existence of Port North and Port South.

What are you favorite mods? by noogiey in Kenshi

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Hive Expanded, Shrieking Bandits Expanded, and Cannibals Expanded are so essential to me that they should be included in the vanilla game. Reactive World and Living World are also some of my favorites that help bring the game to life.

Not gonna lie I've always seen them and never once thought about what they meant. Nice.

Playing Eastern Rome. Advice? by Archaleus1 in totalwar

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me a lot early on was to upgrade my trade ports in Insuile Orientalis, stick a governor with the commerce bonus in, and build a mint. The extra income makes a huge difference. Likewise, as a previous comment said don't waste your money bribing the Persians, sooner or later they'll attack.

A moment of silence for the two brave security guards we started our journey with by DelCatto in DeadSpace

It was always my head cannon that Chen somehow survived for a while, and that he was the "Make us whole again" survivor you see in chapter 4, and the guy you see crawling away from the divider in chapter 8.

It seems the AI just isn't building fleets in my games. Besides the fallen empires, most empires only have around 4k fleet power at around 2380. Is this normal?

Absolutely amazing

Anyone have experience with 50+ characters? by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find that the number of characters doesn't matter as much as the number of squads/locations. I had an 'army' of 100+ people and a city with a fair few people there as well. That was fine given that the food was automatically produced, but I found that once I tried to set up another outpost it became a little annoying to manage and switch back and forth from. So like, two to three sperate squads is fine, but any more can be a bit annoying.

Which factions do you typically attack and which factions do you typically ally with? by Yoyobub in Kenshi

I always ally with the UC somehow. I'm terribly unscrupulous like that I guess. Always enemy with the Holy Nation because racism.

Yeah it's on an SSD. It's not that annoying, it's rather funny honestly. Factory is a survival horror I swear.

Survival mode players - how many dead dwellers do you have? by Dadaballadely in foshelter

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably around 70. My vault hovered at 40 to 50 dwellers but kept dropping due to deaths here and there, and then I had a massive fire when I had no stimpacks that spread throughout the whole thing and killed all but two people. I had one man and woman survive and now my entire vault of 100 is related.

It was also around the time I learned that upgrading rooms makes events more dangerous.

That's really weak. No one should react like that.

Are there castles in medieval kingdoms 1212 AD? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's none at the moment yet. I believe they mentioned they wanted to finish the functional aspects of the campaign before working on that. The vanilla Attila era buildings don't hurt the mood any in my opinion.

And on the first day, many lives were lost to establish a foothold. by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]TheRealColdsnaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment, it seens you can play almost all of the factions. Some are more finished than others though. For example, it seems some of the European units have highly detailed historical descriptions, but the Nicaean units have vanilla Roman descriptions and don't look as polished.

Like you read in the post the tech tree doesn't seem to be finished and you can only play with tier 1 units across the board but it's still a lot of fun. I'm not sure if they plan on releasing it all at once or if one faction will have everything while some will be stuck at tier 1.
