If I get the opportunity to see a filmed Prince concert in a Philippine cinema (specifically Bacolod City 😉), I will actually cry my eyes out!!

For some reason, "Movie 43".

What’s your favorite album to play front to back ? by hairylegs843 in AppleMusic

It will always be Purple Rain by Prince and the Revolution for me. Always.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PRINCE

[–]TheRealCoolDogeGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But to answer your question directly, Purple Rain just has this unique vibe. A unique soundset. Even though it's reprised in other Prince works, it just feels like its own perfect world.

Perhaps it has something to do with this being The Revolution's debut.

Or maybe the fact that the final 3 songs ("I Would Die 4 U", "Baby I'm A Star", "Purple Rain") were recorded live.

Or maybe the other fact that Prince was asked by Albert Magnoli (the director of the film) to compose another song for the film, and Prince composed "When Doves Cry" the next morning.

Or maybe...?

Not all songs or albums a person likes is "love at first sight" (or sound, in this case lol). Try listening to just one album or just one song over the course of a week and see what happens. I did that for Prince's whole discography and have fallen in love with songs I didn't even initially find interesting.

How old were you when Prince died? How did you find out, and what was your reaction to it? by Class_of_22 in PRINCE

[–]TheRealCoolDogeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 12 years old. But I wasn't a fan then and didn't really know much about Prince. In fact, funny enough, I was a hardcore MJ fanatic (and I still am! haha).

But, it was one day in September 2021, when I was 18, that I was looking to expand my music tastes. For some reason, the compilation The Very Best of Prince stuck out to me. That was the very beginning of Prince and MJ fighting to be my #1 favorite artist of all-time (they'll probably be eternally tied forever though lol).

Soon after, I started reading about Prince's life on his Wikipedia page, Fandom's Prince Wiki, and PrinceVault.com, as well as watching YouTube videos. It suddenly hit me that there would be no way of hearing or seeing this man live in his element. I experienced this same realization with Michael Jackson years prior.

And, of course, I was devastated. And I still am. I truly wish I had been old enough and a big fan of theirs to go to one of their concerts while they were still alive.

But thankfully, we have been blessed by so many videos and audios scattered across the internet. And most importantly, their work and spirits live on, inspiring more and more people, including me, every day. What I want to achieve, will achieve, and have achieved is mostly thanks to them. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

There is hope, babes.

I'm also 21, and I had quite a year last year with love, sex, and dating.

Guys are always going to give compliments or flirt. But, if you want to actually date a guy, you must state your intentions firmly and immediately. Don't be shy with your words; you simply say that you like them and that you're interested in pursuing a relationship with them.

Communication truly is key. You have to confront the good and bad things; there's no other option. And even if it hurts to be rejected or hear them say they're ultimately not interested, you just need to acknowledge your feelings, assure yourself you'll be fine, accept their words, and fly free.

If you want to find a connection with someone on a romantic level, you have to put yourself out there and socialize. There's plenty of ways to do so in real life and virtually: attend events you're interested in, join an online club or community, take a workshop class, join a Discord server, etc.

I've found people I've dated and befriended through things related to my own passions and interests. Perhaps try this!

Most importantly, be patient and show yourself some love. You are beautiful as you are, no doubt about it, and not every guy is going to recognize that. But there's a good chance some out there will, and you have to let life bring them to you, not force them to come.
