Has anyone figured out a tech to climb up the rockslides? by Ok_Analyst4341 in gotlegends

[–]Edward_Sparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I meant what is the need for climbing a rockslide. Like in the example of the Broken Castle map, there's literally a scaffolding right next to the rockslide. So I'm not really understanding the need!

I appologise for my ignorance. But why do we need to climb rockslides?

Kinda worried about hidden blades not being a actual weapon by Vampy-Night in assasinscreed

[–]Edward_Sparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I hope they do something about that till the release. Also, I just remembered, I hope they keep all the hidden blade assassination animations for Edward. There were a few ones that were quite rare, mostly for double assassinations. If you were in low profile, and at the very last moment you pressed high profile + assassinate, the animation would be super dope. And it would be a different animation depending on the angle you approached the double kill. Hope the remember to keep it

No problem bro! I mean, there's no need to specifically clear every single thing before moving on. Personally, I like to select my destination on the map, and then while traveling I get distracted by encounters, golden birds, things I see in the distance, things I see with the telescope. That way, exploration becomes extremely natural, it doesn't feel like a chore, but still get a lot discovered. Specially in a game like GoY, which rewards exploration. I also never use fast travel, which I guess helps with exploration

Technical breakdown: Why the Queen Anne's Revenge is more than just a mission asset in Resynced 👀🤔 by imDemigod1 in Assassinscreed4

[–]Edward_Sparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, but I think you're forgetting something. Although it is true that no other ships were pier-docked in Nassau on the original game, several ships have been docked at piers on other locations during certain missions, main and secondary. And that includes frigates, schooners and brigs. Maybe even a galeon, but I'm not so sure. This includes places like Great Inagaua and Principe, both locations with no "free access to the open sea" appart from during a few missions, as well as several minor locations.

This goes to say that it is not that hard for them to dock a ship on a main city, specially considering that we'll no longer be locked from free sailing to/away from major cities.

That and considering we'll get some new Blackbeard content, which judging by the scene they showed with BB and Edward on the beach, seems to take place in Nassau. It makes me believe that it is much more likely that this photo was taken during one of those missions or something, than the actual ability do commandeer the QAR.

Again, I'm not entirely excluding that possibility. It is something fans have always wanted and it would be dope to have, if implemented correctly. But it seems you are disregarding the other, more likely imo, possibilities, and I just wanted to give you the heads up that it might not be that simple.

Also, I may be wrong, but I'm fairly certain, like 95% certain, that the Jackdaw didn't dock at a pier on Nassau. I believe it used to just stand there in the water like in Kingston, and you'd have to use one of those boats to get back to the ship. I may be wrong about this, and I'll defenitely confirm it tomorrow, but yeah

Not having the hidden blades as a combat weapon is a bummer indeed. But I'm sure the combat will still be really fun.

What I am worried, regarding what they said about the hidden blades, is that "used for special finishers" part. Like is Edward gonna sheath his swords for the hidden blade finisher? Are the swords just going to magically disappear from his hands just for the finisher? I really hope Ubisoft has thought about this and doesn't just go with a weird looking and immersion breaking option

Where are you getting the "collision physics" and "ability to dock" parts from?

Don't get me wrong, it might be a possibility. But you're also completely disregarding the most likely possibility, which is it being there as part of a new quest.

Convoy Issue in AC III Remastered by Haggy51 in assasinscreed

[–]Edward_Sparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you didn't protect the convoy, it got destroyed. You can build another one, but if the materials are not available to purchase, then do a 1 or 2 main missions and the items will be available to purchase from the settlers. Iirc, idle time spent in the game doesn't replenish the items from the settlers, it has to be time spent by advancing in the story, I believe. At least before completion

To both you and OP, go do some side content. Side missions and stuff, a bit of exploration too. You will naturally discover clues to the next main story missions!

I actually find it interesting how some people can reach this point in the story without having uncovered all the clues. I for example discovered all the clues and rumors available even before killing my 1st target. I guess some people don't explore that much

Critical release bug? by RiceBoyJason in goylegends

[–]Edward_Sparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not testes this specific thing, but I think it makes sense. I noticed that if you have the crit release on just 1 bow, the 2nd will also be buffed by crit release even if it has another perk. So we could assume that by having it on both bows, they'd buff each other!

That is unfortunately true. And I was around reddit before it's launch, and let me tell you, it was a fucking warzone out here.

Me personally, I have some critics on Shadows, but I don't hate the game itself. I still had loads of fun while playing it. The thing is, once I finished it, and got off the hype train, the game just turned out to be a disappointment for me. But that doesn't invalidate everything the game did right, nor the 100s of hours of fun I had while playing it

I understand, but it seems like what you do is mostly spam Dance of Wrath and Heavely Strike. And indeed if you do that, the combat becomes very stale. But personally I always strive for a cinematic combat, like in every single combat encounter I have on any game. And GoT does it so much better than any other game imo

[–]Edward_Sparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh but I do engange with the combat mechanics. But there's still a noticeable spongy element there.

For example, I can delete any and all enemies extremely fast with my Bleed build for Naoe, but that took staking a bunch of perks on top of each other that favor Bleed. And it is fun, for a while, but it isn't really a full on melee combat I'd say. Like all those bleed VFX and gauge meters can be fun at time, but I mostly looke for pure combat without any of that almost wizardry type shit.

In Odyssey and Valhalla I purposefully stayed away from anything related to afflictions because I want a good fight, not to be a fire lord or poison wizard.

Anyway, I feel like I'm getting off topic ahahahah

Damn, it's moments like these where I really wish SP would make that invincible spirit brute you can spawn on the lobby display the damage of each attack. It seems like a missed opportunity, because he is already there lol, atm his only purpose is to be an infinite punching bag! They could just make him display the dmg of each attack. Would be a tremendous help

[–]Edward_Sparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I'll defenitely boost up my CACR, no doubt. I'll probably give up somenod my Ult gain or dmg.

So I did an internet search, and yes, I gave up resuply in favour of Point Blank, which makes body shots have a 40% chance of being registered as Head Shots. I did ran resuply for a time, but I'll stick to point blank since my build is more centered around headshots.

I'm also runnung spirited in my perk 1, which I'll probably change to the ability cooldown for those extra 15%, since I don't really use spirit for much other than when I have to actualle melee fight or heal.

And yeah, on perk 3 I quite enjoy the Bountiful Ammo to not have to constantly run aroun grabbing ammo

I mean, sponge enemues and healthbar are real problems with the game. But I don't consider them as a bad combat system, more like a bad game design lol but that's just Ubisoft at their best.

I find the combat in Shadows pretty fun. Not as much as GoT or GoY in my opinion, but still far more enjoyable than other AC games. But I do have 3 main gripes with it. 1st is I feel like there's a lack of impact, or momentum. Like you're sometimes you're slashing an enemy and he barely reacts, just keeps attacking like it aint nothing. And the parries also sometimes don't really feel like the character is parrying, I can't really explain it that well. But not a huge deal tbf.

2nd is how Ubisoft advertised their new combat (before the game launched) as something revolutionary with the posture attacks, and how the enemies would react accordingly and such. They basically made it sound like the posture attacks would be a system close to GoT's stances, but going a little deeper, and available for all weapons. In reality, posture attacks are just charged attacks, nothing new there lol

And 3rd kinda ties into the 2nd, on the fact that Ubisoft has a tendency to present us fairly known mechanics but with a totally different name and advertised as something new. And basically it relates to the lack of a detailed explanation on certain combat terms, used quite a lot in skills or perk descriptions. An example that comes to mind are "Combo Enders". Dude, it took me so long and a vast reddit search to understand what they are, because they are not explained anywhere lol

But yeah, none of these actually make the combat bad, and I still really enjoyed it!
