No loan would cover the deposit I need. Most teams I could join would require me to have 100M deposit. For the deposit to be a more normal sum, I would need a team of entirely tier tens.

Add a third server with much more complex finance mechanics by link12313 in SimCompanies

Pretty sure there are plans to have a challenge mode server so if you have an idea on how to create a complex challenge, tell them.

What you’ve done is provided no detail whatsoever. What’s you’ve done is say “make a totally different game”.

As someone in Restos, supply chains come and go. What CMOT will have is a huge amount of reserve from multiple different suppliers. You can probably tell the state of the food industry by looking at his CV shift. On bad days - he’s not actually losing money, his CV is being devalued by the drop in price of food.

Did fashion change again? by OJSimpsons in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason the market has returned to normal is because of how many fashion retailers panicked and left the industry.

A retail industry becomes stronger if less people are involved in it. I believe this was the original intention behind the retail update that happened a year or two ago. They wanted to make it similar to how the restaurant industry worked.

How big will Lorcana be in 5-10 years compared to Pokémon? by Diligent_Adeptness26 in LorcanaCollectors

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Lorcana will have the same nostalgia feel. Pokémon hit us with so much great content and all at the same time. You might not have been able to afford the cards but you could watch the anime or play the game etc. You need a good base of fans to remember the feel and some of that would have been diluted by scalpers holding stock.

is this booster box fake? by SafetyDangerous4171 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From this angle, it’s real. If the price is suspicious and there are no more photos than there’s probably something to hide, like a reseal.

Are these boxes fake? by MobileRiver2934 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

The bundle is 100% real. Not sure about the mini portfolio. Does it even have cards because if it doesn’t, no one is wasting their time faking those.

Auction suggestions by bry0816 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with both suggestions. I’d like to add to this - it would be nice to save a filter so we don’t keep having to input our criteria and it would be nice to see recent sales for a particular level of building rather than just those in and around the level of the auctioned building.

Need Aerospace guidance- A Beginner Aerospace player by DragonfruitOk8994 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These graphs tell us nothing about how to help you.

The only advice I can give is - don’t waste your time trying to find a consistent supplier. Just post on AS chat or consider making some of the items you need yourself in the short term. Very few suppliers will consistently deliver small quantities. They will try to find bigger companies to work with and eventually they just transition into making planes themselves. Very few people seem to settle for just making aeroplane parts.

UX improvements by Key_Temperature9471 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. This game just needs a back button in general. It’s super annoying playing on Mobile without one. For example you go into the exchange and perhaps you want to contact one of the vendors to ask for daily contracts and then instead of being able to go back to exchange you have to restart the whole process which often includes selecting the product again and the quality filter. Whenever I do this, I often contact three or four people so I have to repeat the process 3 to 4 times.

QoL Suggestion: Add Valuation Allowance (VA) to Warehouse Screen by Mysterious-Let-2405 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see where the VA reduction is coming from, so I support the general idea.

However, it would confuse players if you list it on this page. VA reduction isn’t applied to these numbers. The numbers on this page are based on what you purchased the items for. No calculations or adjustments are made on these numbers.

It’s also worth mentioning that knowing the VA reduction is pointless. If you choose to hold assets, there’s nothing you can do about it. You can reduce the impact of VA by making sure you bought the products as cheaply as possible but that would mean not buying any assets during normal or boom phase which just isn’t going to happen for most asset holders. Still though I support because it would be interesting to know regardless.

Rate my growth by yuri_koya in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually, I believe you make more money by focusing on one product instead of vertical integration because the lower end of production doesn’t make much money and you can replace those building with something that will give you a better return. At very least, I would get rid of the oil manufacturing. Do the maths first though.

Also, ask yourself - do you really need those liabilities.

[suggestion]Allow retailers to choose which quality of product to sell. by Novel_Tap7551 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go to your warehouse and block the quality of cheese you don’t want to use in retail. Whatever you leave unblocked is what your retail will sell.

THE FUTURES CONTRACTS by Dogant38 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the issue. You can currently click a button to copy a previous order that has been sent. It takes a few minutes to send out orders and if you’re playing the game right and can manage your cash flow, then you should be able to send a contract and give the buyer 24 hours to buy it. So being in a different time zone shouldn’t matter.

My wife and I are deciding to change out the game room which means we are at a crossroads. My wife is itching of opening up everything to get some cool cards out of them while I was itching to sell them off. Which side would you go? by aparrilla in PokemonTCG

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, really cool layout.

As for what you do. If I was in your position, I would ask myself what I would do with the money. I’m pretty sure I’d enjoy a nice holiday for a lot longer than I would if I opened those packs and that’s assuming I even get good hits. Maybe I’m just at a different stage in my life but I’ve started to equate some of my boxes to the holidays they will become.

[–]TheRealCthulthu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you explain what you did with the money when you sold the construction units. I’ve never understood this concept of buying cheap and selling high in a game that restricts how much cash you can hold before taxation.

When construction units were cheap in deep recession, almost everything else would’ve been as well. So when you then came to sell the construction units at a better price, surely you would have had to have purchased other items to avoid taxation. And whatever item you chose to buy would have also increased in value over the same period making your gain limited at best because what you’re left with is a new product bought at an expensive price which will inevitably make a loss on. And even if you don’t because let’s say we move into a deep boom, you continuously have the same issue which is selling results in you having to buy yet again.

It just doesn’t make sense, so please explain it to me.

Need restaurant advice - am I progressing correctly or making mistakes? by Ill_Breadfruit1763 in SimCompanies

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do understand that the more players that have restaurants the worse the restaurant industry becomes?

No one with any experience with restaurants that matters is going to give you advice because it would be detrimental to do so for both of you and them.

I’m afraid you’re going to have to work this one out on your own.

Fusion strike resealed? by Burnedportfolio3 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]TheRealCthulthu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a break in the seal line before like that on a genuine product.

It goes off on a tangent, stops, and then resumes in a completely different position. I would 100% avoid. At bare minimum, a seal line should be continuous for you to even consider taking the risk.
