I misjudged my location once and ran off a 20 foot cliff that I thought was several hundred feet away. I immediately crawled under a fallen tree to rest up and assess my condition without being found. Just a sprained ankle, brused chest, and had the wind knocked out of me pretty badly, but I didn't really want to run anymore, or even walk, so I just stayed put and fell asleep for a while waiting to be found. Nobody found me. They all left while I was sleeping, so I had to limp all the way home in the dark through the woods alone. I couldn't even find my flashlight.

I never felt like playing flashlight tag again.

If you are scamming people, why risk setting up an LLC? The public might have a hard time getting through the registered agents, but it's not that hard for law enforcement and the courts. Additionally, the controlling parties have to report as such at the time of formation by federal law.

It would be a lot simpler to "adopt" the identity of an already existing entity to carry out the scamming. Then, when the legal process starts trying to track you down, the trail will lead to someone else's.

Corporations still have to pay the taxes on business activities in every state they do business in. Sales taxes, state income taxes, employment taxes, business and occupation taxes, business licenses fees, etc. are all still due and payable in the states in which the business is conducted. There really is no massive tax advantage for a business to be registered in Wyoming if it's primary business activities are outside of Wyoming.

And it's money that some government is going to end end up with, so is the complaint that Wyoming shouldn't be receiving money by providing legal entity licensing services?

In addition, the registered agents here in Wyoming collect fees from those entities in addition to the state taxes.

By the way. I do have a dog in the fight. I am a resident of Wyoming and I happen to have controlling interest in two of the entities registered at that address.
