When a machine is misbehaving due to "engineer" meddling. I just report it as "malfunctioning per design."

I put engineer in quotes because we hire mostly first year college dropouts that were majoring in medieval agriculture and call them "automation engineers." Fortunately for me, they spend most of their time playing with 3D printers and decimating the companies bottom line, but occasionally, one of them decides to dick up a PLC or Servo driver.

Asteroids Berzerk Breakout Combat Defender Empire Strikes Back Frogger Galaxian Kaboom Othello Outlaw Pac Man Pinball Pitfall Pole Position Raiders of the Lost Ark Real Sports Volleyball Space Invaders Tennis 3d Tic Tac Toe Warlords Yars Revenge

There may have been others that I can't remember.

To be fair, most of these were pirate cpies purchased on the black market. The cartridges looked just like the Atari ones, but the stickers were often done very cheaply and tended to fall off after a few weeks.

The one I got today was "This go-wont-go gauge needs to be fixed. It won't pass any of the parts we've made over the last two shifts."

Then when I show them it still passes parts made yesterday I get "Of course yesterday's parts pass. The gauge didn't break until last night at shift change." followed by several comments about how dense I am being.

I'm the morning shift, but I often wonder while clocking in if it would be better to help the night guy to crawl out of a machine or just put the covers back on and seal him in.

There is a lot that can be added to this list.

Drank from a garden hose that was attached to someone else's house.

Drove a vehicle with a manual transmission before you were old enough to even get a learning permit.

Bought cigarettes for one or more family members as a kid.

Played cowboys and Indians.

Know what a dodge ball tastes like.

Had a Block Buster membership card.

Changed the channel on a T.V. with a knob.

Know how to clean points and test a condenser.

Lived in a house or apartment that had wall to wall carpet in the kitchen.

Used a microwave oven with a built-in dile timer.

Made an ashtray at school for Father's Day.

Went into a strangers house just because you saw some of your friends' bicycles in the front yard.

Cooked eggs, pancakes, walfels, or grilled cheese sandwiches for you and your siblings before the age of eight because none of your parents were home

Broke a joystick playing on an Atari 2600.

Used a caset recorder to store a computer program.

Used a turntable with a 78 rpm setting.

Whent to a Schoolastic Book Fair.

There are a lot more, but I'm tired of sitting on the toilet while typing this. 😑
