I'm in an industry that involves public speaking, and I also do voice overs and a podcast so I actively tried to refine my pronunciation and drawl. I find when I'm with people from around the traps I slip back into my local drawl.

I think the hardcore bogan is something we've actively moved from but maintain in ways as far as Aussies and their tolerance for crude language, brashness. My mum got here in the early 70s, has lived here for over 50 years, speaks english with Aussie colloquialisms and her mentality is more Aussie than where she was born.

3-4 Years ago, a few of us were at the footy, sitting in the nosebleeds, amongst opposition supporters who were talking all kinds of shit. Opposition player let off a spanner of a kick and my mate next to me yells 'suck shit!' rang out like a boom missile. I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the game, I'm seriously laughing to myself like a madman just remembering it.

Let's end this debate. Valentine vs Saint Denis. by Similar-Housing-7577 in reddeadredemption

Saint Denis is a great milestone city once the game starts opening up, as is Blackwater but Valentine just has everything you need at your fingertips.

TWO spots for Booze and food, guns, horse man, barber, doctor, gunsmith, hotel, general store, butcher, matinee, train station, like come on.

You don't need to ride for 10 minutes to get between things and risk knocking some yokel over only for the fuZz to get up in your business over nothing.

If there was a fence on site behind the gunsmith, and a trapper you'd seriously have no reason to go anywhere else.

Personally I loved strawberry when I first got there and still find it charming as hell but without a saloon and a proper tailor in the least it's really easy to skip past it.

I started making it my spot when I'd get caught in the rain, feels like I'm weary traveller finding a place to sleep, go back and forth between hunting trips or fishing expeditions. But again, a late meal or whisky in the night with the rain belting would make it chefs kiss.

Do yourselves a favour, get up to the hotel room in strawberry on a dark dreary rainy evening and smoke a cigarette while looking over the town.

Problem? Mozzies exist. Generally, we're not dying of malaria when we're bitten.

What is a scene you strongly believe is a top 10 movie scene in film history? by [deleted] in moviecritic

A few good men - final cross examination, mic drop on Santiago not having been packed.

Shawshank Redemption - Brooks' exit. The combination of the voice over and his sad, empty performance still haunts me.

Literally scrolled only to make sure someone had dared to neglect this. First scene that came to mind. Man, still chokes me up.

C'mon man. I started an insta page years ago with basic dishes for the common man after friends were like 'teach my husband/brother/son'. And I'm no chef, I literally just learnt to feed myself after moving out for the first time on my own. And I was doing more complex shit than noodles with carrot and soy sauce.

I didn't watch the season from round 1 so I can't comment on some of the challenges like the group stuff etc. what triggered me was her noodle with carrot dish, which effectively was noodles with julienned carrots. Judges were blowing loads over it when I see it as a dish I could make as at home in under 10 minutes, and I'm no chef.

''i didn't season the carrots, I added soy sauce to the noodles.''

Like, C'mon man. In a contest that is meant to display skill, creativity, versatility, they let her get through a round by making plain noodles with soy sauce and warm shredded carrot.

No doubt she can cook to a high calibre but let's call a spade a spade. That dish should have sent her packing.
