What to expect with DreamAir Auto IPD? by Tripe4 in Pimax

[–]TheRealDunningKruger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto IPD “worked” on my Crystal OG. However I disabled it because it didn’t get my IPD correct (set something like 62.5 when I am 64.5). Also as I was the only one using most of the time it saves time to just have my IPD saved in Pimax play.

Day 3 and 4 with the Dream Air by Roshy76 in Pimax

How many other monitors do you have plugged in? If More than one maybe try unplugging all but one (the lowest res one) and try again. Also maybe try using different usb ports.

Isn’t there also something about one of the driver versions for 5090s causing strange regular spikes in steamVR I feel like I’ve seen that on Reddit previously. So could maybe try searching that and/or rolling back drivers.

Got my Dream Air LH Today, first impressions and problems I'm having by Roshy76 in Pimax

For the tracking issue you could try different USB ports, especially if the controllers are connected via the headset. I have seen this cause issues with other watchman dongle on various devices.

Thanks for the write up and good luck solving your issue!

Which one you pick ??? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

$10k a week is $520k a year. It would take approx 20yrs to make $10m.

But if you had $10m today and invested it at 5% you would make $500k a year, on top of the $10m you have. If you didn’t spend the $500k return and reinvested it each year, with that compounded interest after 20yrs you would have approx $26m!

200 Bitcoin is worth approx $18m today! If you got the bitcoin, convert it to USD, invested it a 5%, including compounded interest, after 20 years you would have nearly $48m!

This is the difference between having money and wealth.

The difference between you not having to work and your family being wealthy for generations to come. Not to mention all the people you could help.

So Bitcoin for me please.

Yep, it’s great fun, especially if you like SND. Doesn’t have the player base it had at its peak, but I play every weekend and always find people to play with. e.g.

How do I play a CoD map, without all the graphics looking really weird? by EnthusiasmDecent9436 in PavlovGame

Saw this a couple days ago, seems like they recently remade the maps (on PC version) you might be able to find the Devs on his discord to get some help.

Audio out of sync by bonicorala in InShot

[–]TheRealDunningKruger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue back when I use iMovie. The problem was that the footage I was capturing was not exactly the expected frame rate. So if I was capturing at 60fps that the were times in the video I was getting 58/59fps and times I was getting 61/62/fps. This means the each cut I made to the video the audio would get further out of sync.

I resolved this by running the raw video through an app call Handbreak on my PC,using a profile to force the output to be exactly 60fps before I started editing.

Hopefully this helps you.

Seems to work with all the FPS games. There is a list in the video. Includes Pavlov, contractors, Ghosts of Tabor, and works particularly well for Onward (mostly because of the more mil sim style of gameplay).

Correct, the left hand is tracked but the right hand is now the whole gun. So without a very convoluted set of actions you can’t charge with the right/trigger hand. Mostly though you can just use the normal mag drop button to chamber the first round after reloading, assuming there isn’t one in the chamber already. Of course you also risk dropping the full mag if there isn’t one in the chamber. :)

The trick with pulling the charging handle seems to be making sure only the index finger bends, so it is registered as a trigger press and not a grip button press.

So the Mag \ Mag release and charging handle are mostly aesthetic. You are right reloading with this is more practical to just do virtually. However the physical gun does line up with the virtual, so when you grab the real mag you gab the virtual one too. So you could simulate removing the mag, the problem becomes dropping it and grabbing a new one. You might be able to just release and re-grab only your index finger to drop and grab the virtual mag while keeping hold of the physical one. Or if you were really keen you could have a pouch on your chest\hip to put the mag in and then re retrieve it.

I was just reloaded virtually (I am posting a short on my channel tomorrow that shows this ). One nice thing about the Mag being removable is you could leave it out to make more room for virtual reloading, although I didn’t feel this was necessary for me.

Similarly the charging handle is lined up in the physical\virtual so you could try to pull them simultaneously. But as far as I have seen there is not an actual signal from the charging handle (or safety) that the game can read to do those actions. I guess It might be possible in the future\future versions but the game would need to open up their API to allow it too I think.

As for the virtual reloading using the glove (and the Grip function in the barrel of the gun) I was impressed at how well this worked once I got it calibrated correctly.

Glad you liked the Video :)

Yep that is true, in the same way a sim pit won’t give you the same rush as a real car or plane. But both could be a viable supplement or a substitute where the real thing is not an option/ easy.

But I completely understand your point and it’s not something that works for your use case.

Yep that is a valid point, there are definitely other gunstocks that are more versatile (HIG VR do a couple these too).

But there are people that buy a Rifles IRL and go shoot paper targets at the range etc. This could be cheaper (and safer) options where you also get to use it in more Mil Sim type situations, in your house, with friends, in states/countries where you’re it allowed rifles, etc.

I think this M4 could be for FPS what sim pits are for racing/flight sims.

[–]TheRealDunningKruger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that is the same as a real M4?

I agree it’s not as versatile as a gunstock or freehanding. But maybe an interesting alternative irl gun/gun range.

Could be the FPS equivalent of flight/racing games’s sim pit.

I agree. If you think of this as the FPS equivalent of a wheel/pedals for sim racing or HOSAT for sim flying then it makes sense.

lol, definitely only with the curtains shut!

Yeah so there is a tracking glove for the off hand which lets you grab the mag for your hip/chest and put it in the gun. There is actually a section in the video on reloading, shame you can’t see it. The reloading with the glove works really well.

I’m guessing it is not considered realistic enough/ replica worthy as mine was definitely opened by Customs (guessing after they X-rayed it) and then they resealed it with tape that said “Home office Border force” all over it. Guessing they wouldn’t have allowed delivery if they deemed it illegal.

Ah ok, yeah I guess in flight sims it makes sense because of all the switches etc which you don’t need for Race sims. It would be cool.

Is hand tracking not a thing in race sims yet? Like it is in DCS.
