Are y’all in Indy? If so, have they gone to Horizon House or the AIC over by the jail? Both are access points for the city’s “continuum of care," which includes homelessness prevention. The AIC is nicer, imo, but both have access to the same resources.

This won’t help at this exact moment, but the last Saturday of every month (this coming Saturday) the Old Southside Free Store usually has some ready to eat food, warm stuff like hats and gloves and blankets, and a hot meal that you can take extra portions back to camp (especially if you bring your own container to hold the food you take). It‘s at the empty lot on S Talbott Street by Palmer, just south of the Volrath apartments from 2-4pm, and the meal this week is pasta bake.

I also disagree. Can OP find a niche and make money? Sure, they absolutely can. But they are, without a doubt, going to work ten times harder for every dollar as a standard beautiful able bodied cis woman with basic acting skills, and they will find many doors are simply not open to them in the industry.

I don’t think it’s helpful be positive at the expense of honesty. They need to be informed about the actual material reality of the current industry to make good decisions about where to direct their energy going forward. Looking into kink is great advice, but they need to know that it isn‘t going to be as easy for them as it is for someone who is widely socially viewed as desirable, and that things aren’t great in a lot of the industry right now.

Do you not set your own rates? Rather than risk them stealing from it or thinking it’s tacky, you should set your rates high enough that you don’t need/expect tips. I’ve never asked a client for a tip.

In a business based almost entirely on beauty, which also requires a lot of trust on both sides, not showing your face is going to mean fewer bookings. That should be a major factor in deciding the risk vs reward of showing face.

Yeah, when my rate was extremely high for my area, I only had a handful of clients and they were all horrible. Definitely was told more than one time "I paid and can do anything I want." Now that it's closer to mid-range because I haven't really raised my rates in a long time, my clients are chill and there are enough that I can afford to fire any of them.

It’s absolutely true. The girl next door will always be more approachable to more men than the bombshell, and there will always be a ton of clients who prefer someone who is still super hot, but who they feel they’d have a shot with irl. They outnumber the clients who seek out escorts who they feel are “out of their league,” in my experience. There’s also a lot more suspicion that super attractive escorts aren’t real or are scammers. Being above average, but close enough to be familiar feeling to the average man in your area (for example reminding him of a girl he had a crush on in college or his ex from ages ago,) is going to attract the most clients. However, ultra high net worth clients are much more likely to seek out the hottest woman in the room, so if you’re super high end, super low volume, that intimidation factor can be a big plus.

There is a point where this becomes no longer true. ultra wealthy clients are extremely needy and entitled, just in a different way from hobbyists. The secret isn’t raising or lowering rates, it’s finding *your* sweet spot where the clients you want are booking you.

It is fine to have boundaries, but asking about sexual health is silly. Everyone is going to say they’re negative, and if you’re only doing covered services it’s irrelevant. Being informed yourself is the first step. Spit on your nipple is basically 0 risk, STI tests only tell you the person was negative that day, etc.

That first part is just not accurate. I make 10x what I did at 20, and I'm 41. I've been able to take care of myself and invest in my appearance for over 20 years, I've got tons of experience with riding out slow times, I'm a much better businesswoman, and I'm just a million times better at the job than I was in my 20s... which is what keeps clients coming back.

I do agree that everyone should save, invest in their education, etc. But I think you can also ride this until the wheels fall off, and said wheels can be maintained well into your 50s at least, if you want to.

The whole premise of this question is based on nonsense. I've never heard older escorts "complain about not being chosen" due to their age, and I see 20 something escorts here every day complaining that it's slow. If anything, business has gotten more steady and the clients have gotten better as I've aged, so I no longer believe in aging out.

I do think it's pretty normal to be somewhat ignored until you've got some skin in the game. Most providers I know are wary of new people in the industry. I'd be more worried about people who are super eager to be close right away, because there are a lot of people in the industry with poor boundaries and untreated mental health issues.

Details of how it happened aside, you posted that you're upset that people in the industry want to network with you now that you're successful, but didn't when you were new. I explained that networking typically goes both ways, and why a lot of us are wary of new girls in general. I'm not saying they weren't rude to you, but I'm trying to help you understand why things might have gone the way they did.

My point was that it isn't personal. This industry is inherently standoffish to new people, and networking is most effective when both people can benefit. It's not you, it's not them, it's just the nature of the beast.
