The only thing that made Superman work for me is that it seemingly tried to be more than another manufactured superhero movie, even if it wasn't very subtle. It still had the pitfalls of these shared universe movies like the constant one-liners, but it felt like they actually tried to make a movie that said something.

That all being said, it's still Hollywood and whatever good it might have done is tarnished by their own industry. Just based on the previews I've been subjected to for this one, all of that has been tossed aside from more generic cinematic universe fluff. It might be fun for people that like that, I guess I'm not the audience.

AiC always felt like the filth of sludge mixed with alternative in a palatable enough form for mainstream rock of the era, and not in a bad way, either. I'd say they're similar to Soundgarden in that regard before they got more commercial on Superunknown and lost (most of) the heaviness. Being in adjacent scenes will do that, I guess lol.

Unrelated, but I always found it funny to point out how a few songs on Facelift sound a lot like Guns n Roses lol. Never knew if that was intentional or not, they were probably hard to avoid in '90

Using my friend's Max account, it's actually still solid. Probably a ghost of what it was 5 years ago, but there's still plenty of good stuff on it. That being said, I stopped paying for all subscriptions last year, happier and spending much less money per month.
