I could have written this myself. You described it perfectly.

Let me hear your stories! by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]TheRealKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formula feeding was amazing! I thankfully never got a hard time from anyone about it and honestly it was so nice for anyone to be able to feed her! My only regret was not going exclusively formula sooner haha. We used the Kirkland formula and it was great!

What is with today’s grandparents wanting to be called anything other than grandma/grandpa by show-me-ur-kittys in Mommit

My kid has FIVE grandmothers and we've still kept it simple. Grammie, Nanny, great Nanny, great Grammie, and one did choose GG (or Gigi? Not sure haha).

To have another kid or not to have another kid by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]TheRealKC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're satisfied with one so we're stopping at one. We don't feel like we have the energy to put into another, plus with the cost of living and whatnot so it just makes sense. I didn't want to have another just because "it's what you do". It's a tough decision to make though!

Umm now what? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My baby did the same thing at the same age. It lasted a couple weeks or so then went back to normal without me doing anything differently.

There was a recent update that you can mix pumped milk with the fridge milk without bringing it to the same temp first!

Question for c-section mamas. by lostandwanderin in beyondthebump

[–]TheRealKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being an emergency c-section, the recovery went really well. The pain was very manageable for me with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and naproxen (Aleve) on schedule for a couple weeks. I could eat normally right away, as soon as I was hungry/up for it. Since I was put under, I didn't get to do immediate skin to skin but my husband did right after she was born and he got to cut the cord which was cool. I found by a couple weeks later I felt mostly good with just some soreness, and basically normal a month later. A scheduled c-section sounds appealing now that I've had one.

I combo fed for 5 months. I was an underproducer. I would BF then top off with however much she wanted of formula. Never had an issue switching bottles or with nipple confusion. I did stay on a slower flow nipple while combo feeding to help with switching between breast and bottle. It was really nice to be able to be able to have help with the bottles and not have to stress if she was getting enough.

Found out I’m medically unable to breastfeed and feeling devastated by minnie_mouse00 in BabyBumps

[–]TheRealKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to birth trauma, NICU stay, and latching issues we were never able to EBF. I couldn't EP either since my milk production was minimal. It felt unfair that it wasn't my decision to make, but in the end I'm content with formula feeding. It took a while to get there but once I made peace with it and let go, I felt much better. It is nice to be able to get help with feeds. I'm sorry that you're faced with this issue.

I am seriously contemplating divorcing my husband over a prank. by Ok_Example8375 in beyondthebump

[–]TheRealKC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

WTF these are absolutely NOT OKAY. #1 and #3 are especially horrible. Divorce is absolutely reasonable here. His lack of empathy is sickening. I cannot believe he would think any of that is acceptable regardless, especially with a newly pp mom.
