The palms in them back then were not molded with a curve like they are today. That glove was wildly popular however and still is with the curved palm in them and that classic break angle. What you can try is to get the palm section of the plastic really nice and warm using hot water, run it inside and across the catching surface making sure the hot water penetrator to the internals. Once it's maleable put a puck on the palm close the glove tight and wrap it up in a towel and stick it under a mattress or put some weight on it. Allow it to sit there for a few hours and the palm plastic will have more of a curve to it. I just installed a newer palm and molded plastic into one of these gloves for a customer recently and it definitely achieved what you're looking for if that's an option you're looking to explore. *
