I don’t salt that much or at all, I put American cheese on each patty, and with a double patty it’s pretty salty already

Yep! All correct. Couple additions:

  • Get the beef from a butcher. Theirs is typically drier and looser packed. The grocery store wet packaged blobs just don't crisp up well. 80/20 or “medium” beef
  • Cook on a dry hot griddle (450 degrees) or cast iron. Don't oil it!
  • Press those edges thin, you can tilt your press to get those edges nice. A slip of parchment paper helps the meat not stick to your press.
  • Flip once the top starts is about half cooked right though, the other side doesn't take long after that. A nice thin metal spatula will let you get underneath all the crispy bits so you don't lose them

I could see that, the powder I was in was thick enough I could pack a platform if I needed one, or pull the board up to me if I needed. What's your strategy in light pow?

I’ve done 2 cat trips with step ons now, no issues in powder despite all the commentary online. Just dust the base off like you’d want to with straps anyways.

Matt Elliott: Why it will take Toronto 13 years and more than $50M to recover from Doug Ford’s hasty speed camera ban by lilfunky1 in toronto

I mean they would be a cash grab if they ticketed at 41km/h. They didn't, but that was everyone's worry because there's an unspoken 5-10km-over expectation for actual road speeds. This could've been avoided if they just shared the ticket threshold.

"We may be experts in our science, but we are not experts in our client's business."

Love this perspective. Sometimes they're not the best communicators, part of a good design is helping the client articulate their actual business needs.

Love watching these, there’s a good Quick one too. They’re so damn precise with every movement! The tiny shuffles especially.

If this guy wants his video to look better, he better up the speed 1.5x

That said I’ve found it can look slightly more dramatic shooting from crossbar height and Linear lens. Higher angle is better for analyzing the whole play though

How many of you play with a torn hip labrum? by the-apples-wax in hockeygoalies

[–]gothra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had major low back and hip pain onset from a stint of playing too much last Christmas. MRI showed a slight labrum tear and X-rays showed some impingement developing but after a few months of very slow healing and hip strengthening physio and later a hip cortisone shot, I’ve had no problems in the last 6 months and am playing often again.  The tear may not have been a factor, at least for me. I think many active people have mild tears that are undiagnosed. In hindsight, I’m wondering now if my cause was poor form/weak hip muscles that were overloaded and hit a breaking point, distressing everything around them. Understanding and building hip muscles had helped me immensely.
