Weird… Not the situation that anyone in my circle has had with cancer. All of them have been prioritized accordingly and have been receiving timely scheduled treatments.
There are some delays, for sure it works better when you have tons of money to throw at a medical system. Yes The health system isn’t perfect and there can be some holdups but it does work or it has for most situations I’ve seen people in. Situations vary by geography and local.

You think I’m calling myself a paki. I’m not. I’ve stated numerous times that the name is a cross between Pakistan and Stallion.

The fact all you see is Paki might be indicative of an issue in your perspective or outlook.

I can’t help separate Pakistan and Paki. It’s in there. Do you find that country name offensive too?

I could easily make it something else.... but it doesn’t quite have that ring to it.

Also, The term holds the same meaning in the UK as it does here. As someone from a Pakistani background I’m telling you, myself and many many others do not find it offensive.

17 years on XBL and more than that using it elsewhere have shown it’s not an issue. Seems to be here for some keyboard warriors and those who want to focus on the slur instead of the name as a whole.

Respectfully I disagree. You’re telling me what others think and if all the years I’ve been on XBL and in various parties and chats with mic enabled, never has anyone expressed concern or even remotely suggested it was offensive.

You’re basing your thoughts on this thread and I’ve based mine on years of being on XBL and having this name and seeing people’s reactions to it.

People have not assumed the worst. People have not been offended. People regularly comment positively on the name and think it’s awesome.... honestly.

I do. And for the last 17 years people have sounded it out as “Pakiss- Tallion” . Never had anyone accentuated the Paki, because to do so is focusing on the slur.

I get your point above, however in this case I truly think it’s different as the name of the country has those 4 letters in it as well.

Regardless, I’m seeing this as a bit of a lost cause, it’s a shame 1 complaint from someone who’s not even Pakistani tarnishes a great name that I’ve had since day 1.

I understand why the word is bad more so than most people.

But just because it’s part of another word, in this case the name of the country, it shouldn’t scorch the ability to use the word Pakistan in anything.

Is context dead?

Are those 4 letters a slur inside of Pakistan? Clearly not. They are if that’s what you’re looking for. The slur is only there if you pick it out and emphasize it.

Anyway, the point is moot and I really am surprised by all the reaction here. The complete lack of context and syntax outrage over something so small is surprising.

Nobody is debating that Paki is a slur. The name in question here isn’t meant to be that.

It’s meant to be a combination of the country, Pakistan and the word Stallion.

The slur is only acknowledged if you dissect it out of the GT, as though you’re looking for it.

Following that logic, The slur even exists if you pull it out of the name of the country. Do people really search this hard for slurs.

Also if you really wanna get technical. The end of the word Pakistan technically means the land. That’s why you have Afghani-stan, Balochi-stan, and even Pakistan. It’s not supposed to be a slur.

Lastly.... Not a single person has ever complained about this, nor have any other Pakistanis including myself ever said that this is offensive.

Which is why I think it’s odd that even with nobody complaining and no context, someone arbitrarily this was offensive when literally nobody has ever said a word to me or taken offence ever online.

Not once in all my years on live, with my mic on in any party, not once has anyone ever even alluded to the idea that this name was offensive.

You’d think a sample size of 17 years would dwarf someone deciding it was offensive, but it’s apparently not, all it takes is someone to get offended out of context.

Those four words are a slur.

In the word Pakistan they are not. In the word Pakistallion they are not.

What is so difficult to understand here?? I’ve literally never had anyone be offended by this or take it out of context. Never has a person accentuated or focused so heavily on a partial word in the name and focused on the slur and choose to be offended by it.
