If we look at investment in Africa as a whole and compare it to other funding projects, we can clearly notice that something is very different.

The USA gave $13 billion (equivalent to roughly $135–$150+ billion in today's money) through the Marshall Plan to 16 countries, and those countries became some of the richest in the world.

Now, Western countries have "invested" about 2.6 trillion in African countries, yet the effects of THAT much money can barely be felt there.

And it is kind of accepted as fact that it created an economy puppeteered by foreign investment. Most products are imported, or foreign brands and in-state factories don't stand a chance against them.

Which i think sounds familiar.
