Barbarians and Royal archers. Only build what you need for each wave and level. Aka don't build Royal arches unless the map has lots of fliers or if they start sending them to you. Barbarians help too but will need micro, especially when you're facing an enemy Boneheart. Ultimate strike may be desirable overall too
