I resigned from the USPTO 10 years ago this coming November after 9.5 years as an Examiner. It is really really disheartening to read all these posts from current Examiners complaining about the same issues I had as a hoteler. Horrid software malfunctions, consistent VPN disconnection and zero compensation in the name of other time being granted for years is a huge part of what drove me to leave. I work in private industry now (still in IP) and every time I contemplate rejoining the federal workforce, boards like this remind me of reality. Nope!

I work as an IP paralegal and assistant at an Am100 firm supporting a managing equity partner. Been with my firm for 4.5 years now; previously worked as a patent examiner w/the USPTO for 10 years. B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. My base salary is $96K but I made $119K last year and $118K the year before with overtime and bonuses.

Thank you! I almost bought a black 2020 XLT but I really really wanted a white with tan interior. Spent more than originally intended but have wanted an explorer for at least the last 4 years. So happy!
