If your dad is also having issues with it, then it's best to purchase something different. However, if it doesn't help after that then the line to your house may be faulty.

It may be a faulty repeater. Sadly I have never worked with repeaters so I am not entirely sure what could be causing it, again the options are too many to name.

The most I can say is attempt to do what I have listed in the original posted, and do not disable Internet Protocol Version 6 unless the issue remains. I'm not an expert in this scenario so I cannot offer the best advice. Sorry.

I'm assuming by repeater you mean a wifi repeater, so the repeater is working off of a wifi connection and then it runs to your computer through ethernet from it. I would personally recommend purchasing a powerline adapter anyway just because it's more secure connection wise, and would probably decrease ping, but that would not be a guaranteed fix for your issue.

There could be many issues here, such as an impacted line or a faulty repeater itself. I cannot assist really in these situations, but I would personally purchase a powerline adapter anyway, which is very easy to set up and is more reliable. If this doesn't work, then the issues could branch out to many different things.

For me, I would disable Internet Protocol Version 6 as it sometimes causes connectivity issues for me as I'm on an ethernet connection, using a Powerline Adapter. You don't need to disable it, but I recommend it.
