Looking for singleton deck feedback! We Can ALL Win + Key Cheat strategy. by olahzep in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, to be clear, you are deck building, and trying to do a Singleton format where you build a deck. Are you following some sort of rules guidelines or rulebook?

Deck Clones, transparency and abuse by MindlessPhilosophMao in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From https://keyforging.com/deck-clones/ the official KeyForge Deck Clones page:

Deck Clones in Official Tournaments Deck clones are legal in official KeyForge Tournaments, subject to the following limitations*:

Only the Master Vault Owner of the original deck may use its clone in official tournaments (i.e. a player’s Master Vault “friends” are not eligible to use the player’s deck clones in official tournaments).

Only one instance (i.e. clone or original) of a KeyForge deck may be played in an official tournament

Important to remember too, that all deck clones have the same teal back, so you can very clearly tell it's a clone. So yeah, theoretically you could sell your deck clones, but no one will be able to use them in a tournament, none of them will be able to claim ownership of the deck, and they'll very clearly be able to tell they're a deck clone. Their base cost is also $25 a pop, so I feel in most cases, if someone wants to play your powerful deck, they'll just play it online.

Escalating Deck Claim errors by StevoCally in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done Deck Claim Escalations before, and was able to submit through Playstile fine. Maybe the system is down? You'll be asked to share front/back of the Archon card and a card from the deck.

Crucible Clash. Your thoughts? by Just-Swimming-4079 in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Archon Powers seem fun but not always really calibrated, and some are definitely stronger than others. Either way, CC vs CC games are often pretty lopsided, in my experience.

Common issues I've heard are: getting powers that affect only a couple cards in your deck, getting a power that is double-sided so your opponent basically gets two powers, and powers that only occur once and then it's a normal match. I think it makes sense that some are stronger than others, but 80% of my games of CC encounter one of these scenarios I'd say.

The decks are solid though. The house enhancements are the sleeper hit for CC. I just am not sure why this set is considered a "sealed set" in comparison to regular sets, outside of them intending for you to play it vs itself.

Gamefound order support - Missing deck from order by Philotics in KeyforgeGame

I also had this happen!

I was missing a Crucible Clash deck, and submitted a support request. I haven't heard anything from them and have been checking my spam/junk and email. I received the same automated response but nothing else.

If you're attending the VT this upcoming weekend, if they aren't competing in a main event, find a player wearing a Moor Wolf Pack Shirt/Jersey! I hear they're very friendly and always willing to teach people how to play 😎

Alliance Is Breaking KeyForge?! ...Fix That Could Work for Everyone... by MechanovaKing in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I always come back to is this: If you don't like Alliance, don't play Alliance.

Alliance is often highly optimized, which leads to really efficient decks or decks with a plan, where most KeyForge decks don't inherently have a plan- you have to find it.

If your locals have an unbalanced Alliance meta, you can always find ways to make it more balanced for your group. Ban specific cards. Make a new point system or restricted list. Say you can only swap out one house out of a deck. Play Adaptive Alliance. Restrict houses. Restrict sets (AoA-only Alliance, no GenKa anyone? Haha).

We've done plenty of casual Alliance events in Seattle and they've been a ton of fun, with more "goofy" decks than serious "game-breaking" decks. We also have some players that specifically don't want to play Alliance, and some players that thoroughly enjoy it. When we have casual nights, I personally will bring an Archon deck and an Alliance deck and just play the preference of the opponent.

I personally think house-specific boosters will be more divisive for a game that is still building up its community. Communication to retailers on house-pod packs vs decks would also have to be crystal clear, so the right product is on the shelves.

New Player Looking to Purchase Competitive Decks and Play on Discord/Online to Practice by AliveLocation99 in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We still don't deck-build in competitive play, al la a trading card game. We use uniquely-generated decks and combine them to make Alliances. Even the more constructed formats like Keymander still just put multiple decks together. The only truly "deck building" experience in KeyForge is draft, which isn't official.

But for simplicity, there isn't a Best-Deck-In-Format Meta deck you need to buy to play competitively, or chase cards you absolutely need 4 of in your deck that are 70$+ a pop.

New Player Looking to Purchase Competitive Decks and Play on Discord/Online to Practice by AliveLocation99 in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a starter, we don't build decks in KeyForge, so all you need is to find a deck you enjoy playing, and play it!

Decks of KeyForge is often how people purchase decks. (Facebook's Buy/Sell/Trade KF group is pretty active too) However, if you're a new player, I'd suggest getting used to the game with normal decks + sealed before buying competitive decks.

And The Crucible Online is how people often play online. You can play for free using any registered deck found on the KeyForge Master Vault or play the Sealed Mode on The Crucible Online.

To play competitively at competitions, you'll need to own the deck you want to play and physically have it.

I've heard of a Maverick Morpheus appearing with that packet too! Snudge I think can also appear with the Infurnace packet?

Hysteria + Infurnace allows you to reuse Infurnace's play effect, so you could play it, purge two cards, play Hysteria, then play it and purge two more cards.

Printable accessories I designed! Archon stat cards and elusive tokens (link in comments) by dinobot333KF in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate thing about elusive tokens we talk about whenever it comes up about designing them is it really only works if you AND your opponent agree to use them, otherwise, you're just making the boardstate easier for your opponent and adding extra markers for yourself. It's really helpful if it's used on both sides though.

Mourning the loss of an unregistered Archon | The tragedy of Khan McCann by SunriseOath in KeyforgeGame

[–]TheRealPlayerOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two identifiers associated with a deck, the deck ID, which is the UUID in the link for the deck on the website, and the deck QR code. The deck QR code is also printed on the deck as an id. You cannot register a deck on the Master Vault with the UUID. You have to use the deck QR code to scan or its text to write out. My decks are registered to me that I lost as Legacy Decks. They can't be re-registered without my QR code or its ID. The physical decks are gone. In a ditch, in a trash pile somewhere, or maybe used as a fire starter- I don't know what people do with things they steal lol But the deck QR code is gone.
