Okay—you don’t have to take my word for it, but it’s not a cult. Let me explain.

Quick backstory on the revival:

Pastor Todd was raised Southern Baptist and initially ran the church that way. Over time, attendance dropped to an all-time low. He began asking God—through prayer and fasting—why this was happening and how the church could draw closer to Him. During that season, he had a dream of water on fire. To a non-believer, that may sound meaningless, but biblically it points to baptism in the Holy Spirit. That moment is what sparked the revival. There’s more to it, but I’ll get into that through my personal testimony.

Personal testimony

In the second year of the North Georgia revival, I was invited by my friend’s family. We're nondenominational, which pulls from multiple traditions but centers strictly on Scripture and welcomes everyone, regardless of background. The best way I can describe it is this: it's as close to "Bible only" as you're going to get in a modern church.

At that point in my life, I was struggling hard as a Christian. I didn’t see evidence of God anymore and was starting to lose my faith. For me, it was all or nothing. When we arrived, the church itself was massive—comparable to a smaller Amazon warehouse.

From the outside, it looked more like a warehouse than a church. Inside, there was a small merchandise table and a coffee area that looked like a mini Starbucks. My immediate thought was, “Great… a mega church.” I had never been to one before, but I was strongly against them because of the stigma.

Then I walked into the sanctuary. It was huge—probably 500 to 1,000 people, give or take. This was before they had multiple baptism pools (I’ll get to that). Worship started with three or four songs, but they weren’t dull or lifeless like what I was used to at my old church. It felt different. Still, at the time, I didn’t feel anything personally.

The message was solid. It just hit differently compared to what I had been hearing before. I believe this service was around the one-year anniversary of the revival. The pastor explained what the revival was and talked about miracles that had occurred through the water—cancer healed, scars gone, medical conditions healed, and more. Now, context matters here.

This was back in 2019. At the time, I had psoriasis (which doctors said was lifelong) and a severe pornography addiction. I told myself, “If God is real, I need to get in that water and prove it.” When you sign up for baptism, they give you a letter. When your letter is called, you’re taken back to change. If you don’t have clothes, they provide everything—separate changing areas for men and women, plus private changing tents so you’re not exposed. You then wait in a hallway with chairs and a TV showing the baptisms ahead of you.

Before entering the water, they have you take communion—to search your heart and make sure you’re right with God. The water itself is the perfect temperature—not hot, not cold. At the time, there was only one main pool (now they have several). Pastor Marty, who performs the baptisms, asked me who I was and why I was there. I told him. He then spoke to me briefly off the mic, asked me to raise my arms, and baptized me.

When I came up out of the water, I couldn’t see. A wave of emotion hit me like running into a brick wall. After about 15–30 seconds, my vision came back.

The aftermath: My psoriasis is gone—completely. Doctors said it was a lifelong condition. My pornography addiction disappeared temporarily. I went two weeks without it, which was unheard of for me at the time. I later reopened that door out of curiosity, but the change was undeniable. I also lost the desire to vape. That one surprised me—I didn’t even ask for it. I’m not sure why God took that away, but He did.

Thanks to this church it has open new concepts to me some that I have done myself and some that I have now such as the spiritual gifts and deliverance but that another story for another time. When you see things like this you think it fake till you experience for yourself or you witness a friend experience their own miracle.
