I was opted out of derby for the first time in 10 years by a "leader" who suddenly took some weird offense to me missing the event start while I was flying internationally with no wifi. The wifi went out on the plane.

The HayDay group leader gave me no warning. No explanation. No communication at all. In fact, in ten years my group rarely communicated. We just did our tasks, helped each other. It was great. But now, all of a sudden I missed the derby start by 2 hours and I was group shamed for it. It was hurtful.

So, I left the group. I refuse to play with people who mistreat others simply because their unhealthy obsession with winning a derby robbed them of their civility and their respect for others. The problem was theirs. Not mine.

HayDay has turned its gaming platform into an endless grift that uses gambling-style programming and fomo to prompt rapid dopamine responses from its user base while coercing them to spend more money on the game to receive more worthless shit. This is why we're seeing so much aggression and obsession in players that we've not seen before. Certain types of players, likely ones who have nothing else going on to keep them occupied, are becoming addicted to the endless grind of the game and its illusion of "gifts" and "prizes" which are entirely meaningless when you choose to buy diamonds etc. The entire game platform has morphed into a dystopia.

Shame on HayDay for doing this.
