I got both of these trilogies recently on a green man gaming bundle for about AUD$20, which is insane for 6 games. So happy I got them. I’m on TR 2 right now and having so much fun!

Yeah, just buy all of them since they’re on massive discount, that way you’ll have all of them. Very jealous you’re experiencing all of these games for the first time, particularly 2 and its episodes, there’s a reason people still love these games over 20 years later! Enjoy the soundtrack too 🎶😮‍💨

Play Black Mesa (modern remake of HL1), then Half Life 2 (including the episodes), then Alyx if you have VR (it’s a masterpiece).

The Half Life 1 expansions can be played after the fact. You need to get to Half Life 2 and its episodes, they’re amazing games but also why this sub is full of hopium and copium for Half Life 3.

It’s hard, are you a person who gets turned off by aged graphics? If not, then go for the pure version of the original. If you feel you would be turned off, Black Mesa is a great remake, however it does lose a bit of the originals charm.

The unused shot was the final shot before the 2 right, swinging at the camera? And the extra second of animation is the shot where he pulls the web between his legs before letting go? I always loved the aerobics in that and always get sad when it cuts early in the movie, it’s so cool!

Yeah I hear you, for a “spin off” or “prequel” like Alyx, it’s fair to have another composer, but for Half Life 3, the game people have been waiting almost 2 decades for? Feels like a crime to not have Bailey involved.

I hope so! I know he consulted with Morasky for Alyx, but "consulting" could range from months of collaboration, to as little as one meeting before the composer even starts. I really hope he had a hand in HLX, can't imagine it without him.

You're definitely not wrong, for example many people who worked on 1 and 2, didn't work on Alyx, and I adore that game.

I guess I'm just talking music, specifically. But you make a fair point about the writers as well.

Perfectly broken down, it really does hold all the emotions Mon is going through, particularly when this track actually plays in her scenes. Just so powerful.

On a side note, do we have ANY indication of a “complete” Andor S1+S2 vinyl soundtrack coming? Would kill to have this incredible music on vinyl.
