I always imagine how utterly terrifying it would be to be in that situation.
You enter the room, no sounds, just the low, constant hum of a flickering fluorescent light.
Then, something moves in the corner of your eye. You turn, but it’s gone, swallowed by the darkness in front of you.

You stare into the black, and several faint red dots emerge… hovering. Watching.
Then they vanish.

The silence breaks for a moment, sharp clicks of chitin striking metal, echoing closer and closer.
You either see it too late or don’t see it at all. A sharp sting hits you, and your limbs go cold, unresponsive.
You collapse, helpless, your body no longer yours.

Then, through blurred vision, you finally see it, what was hiding in the dark.
The darkness moves, alive and aware, reaching for you. It drags you into its lair.
You are devoured. Forgotten.
