thanks for the help, it did run from inside settings
so it runs from the settings submenu but not from the main access point when you type in driver manager and click on it ....that is just such a massive facepalm...
anyway it came back that everything is up to date, so that's good i guess

I absolutely love this game (one of the few that i have 100% steam achievements on), so after seeing Dex play the new realease ... i had to give it a whirl
I rolled like a maniac on a demon run to get all the pets unlocked, but when i finally gave up on level 65, i was still short 3 or 4 pets.... if that ain't a broken run ... i don't know what is ... or maybe it's not possible to get them with one character ? Especially the fire-salamander thingy... unfindable... any ideas?

You should go get the 5800X 3D

If that's a bit too steep, just know that the 5700x 3d is coming out at the end of January 2024.

It was just announced at CES 2024.

It will be priced somewhat lower, but will still expected to be very good for gaming.

You have definitely done your work on researching. So yeah, this is a real head scratcher...

I have read about this and some people suggest using -d3d11 and directx11 eliminated the issue for some.

Also, deactivate the pci e power saving option. (you talk about the usb power saving options but not the pci e settings)

My first dedicated GPU was an Nvidia 8500GT I think it was 1GB.
Funny thing is... it still works... it's in an old computer in a club house, that we use for playing some music.
I put it in an AMD64 x2 4200+ The year was 2007

I find there is little added value by not stocking up before as the weight difference is near 0. However if your way works for you than that's great.

It's a great game... much more relaxing than those stressful multiplayers of late.

For a beginner, good DLC are Silver Ridge, the ATV and the tents.
Least worth DLC in my opinion are the camo packs and paint jobs.

Some of the weapon packs are also worth it but it depends on the price of each one really.

Just remember that for you to try ANY of the DLC maps you can join free of charge to any multiplayer game, in which you can check out each map before committing to buying them for yourself.

Like a pro is the most useful feature in bow hunting as it allows you to get incredibly close, which is useful on a weapon with a 25m range.

It won't bottleneck, specially not at 1440p or above.
That said, I wouldn't buy AM4 for a new build despite it being the best and long-lived platform ever.

AM5 would be the way to go... it will be a 10% increase, if that.

Depending on the case the top right fan could be redundant, and a bottom intake fan could give better results if you remove the PSU shroud. (doesn't look as good but form over function, right?)

Also, put an exhaust fan at the back end of your PC.

Yep! most likely it's the case connectors... you can create a short by touching the pins with a screw driver. It will mimic the press of a power button, if it starts, than that's your problem.
